Due to the success of my Windsor Castle Video (thank you very much for your support), I've decided to go around all the Royal residences. Kensington is the first on my list and there are plenty more to go around. However, Buckingham Palace seems difficult to get into. But when there's a will, there's a way! Great video. Clarence House is also a current royal residence that you can visit as a tourist in the summer in London. Other former royal homes include Marlborough House and Lancaster House, both amazing but have very limited public access.
Back in 2004 I visited London, but I didn't want to pay like 12 pounds, so I missed my chance to see Kensington Palace. Thank you for such a great details video! Really enjoyed it!

So glad your back again! I went to Kensington Palace in 2011 when I stayed right by Hyde Park and absolutely loved it. I was really young then though so hopefully I'll get to come back and see London again soon!

The hotels near Hyde Park are pretty swish! Certainly way out of my current price range. I remember staying with one of my American friends in one of those ... one of the nicest ones I've ever stayed in.
We were there in 2003 and stayed in a smallish hotel in Earls court. I remember se used to walk past some embassies and the cars parked there had my husband enthralled! It started with a ‘A’. Alexander , no! Ajax , no. Sorry, I’m going senile . Greekish name. Lovely little hotel,so helpful and friendly. They had a young lad working there and he was so excited this one night because we’d been to the post office and picked him up a parcel from his mum. In it was a video of a Crows match ( football). My hubby was a crow supporter as well. Sorry, bored you to death but wonderful memories for me. Silly teary eyed me. Happy ones. Thank you 🙏🙋♀️🙋♀️🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Again, another nicely done video tour. When in London did pass by but didn't actually visit. The fact that it is a heavy trafficked site, I know to go at the start of the day . It would be wonderful to see the ascension room where Victoria was declared queen. Perhaps 1 day at Hampton, one day visiting Kensington & 1 day to visit the museum. Do enjoy the bucket list. Was that a bit George Frideric Handel in the background?

Thanks very much. Kensington Palace is certainly easier to get to and there's a lot to see, but I'd pick Windsor Castle out of the two. Not only is it more historic, the town of Windsor itself is very nice.

Hi. 2.5 hours is more than plenty to see everything at Kensington Palace. I try and get there as soon as the doors open, this will avoid the longest queues which happen at midday. What time is your tea reservation and where are you going for tea?

@@babeudoo Oh you've got plenty of time! Don't queue too early because they won't let you in until your allotted time (they're pretty strict about that), so about 5-10 minutes before and I think you'll be fine. I'm pretty sure you'll finish way before 3:45pm inside Kensington, so you've got time to visit the Sunken Garden (which is free) and the Pavilion is right next to it. If you still need to kill off time, you've got the whole of Kensington Gardens to explore. But I don't think you'll need to rush anything whilst you're there. Hope that helps!

No, I said that the garden was free. I highlight very specifically that you have to pay for a ticket to go inside several times in this video. This is shown at 12:46 of the video and I explain how to book tickets.
This is a very controversial suggestion, but IF you managed to enter North Korea, would you suggest putting it on your bucket list? On the one hand you don't want to give money to the regime, but on the other it might be worth the surreal experience of entering an Orwellian society. I'd also compare it to visiting a holocaust museum.

The typical time is about 2-3 hours. You can spend longer in there if you want, there's no time limit.

It only opens at 10:00am so there's not much point going too early. That said, by the time I left at 12:00noon, it was packed.

There's more things about Princess Di in Kensington - you could in theory visit both, it won't take you that much time to see.

This is a very controversial suggestion, but IF you managed to enter North Korea, would you suggest putting it on your bucket list? On the one hand you don't want to give money to the regime, but on the other it might be worth the surreal experience of entering an Orwellian society.
