    I'm just starting out to work with resin and so glad that I came across your blog. I was looking on how to make two colors come together without messing up the main color scheme. I'll be sure to use your suggestion on this for my next project.

      Thank you! If I have enough to work on another project (and have enough working time with the resin to use it) I’ll start something else. If there is just a bit left in the cups tho I let it cure completely so then I can just peel it out to reuse my measuring cups

    Does the resin melt at all when you put a tea light candle inside the resin candle holder? Does the resin start to melt with the flame from the candle at all?

    Very nice thank you. Just a thought you hand was in the way a lot. I was constantly trying to see you pour. Maybe pour opposite camera. Again thank you. Hey how many oz of resin did you need for this mold please. Thank you

      Thank you for your feedback! I will definitely work on this in the future. These molds take about 100ml each so I usually mix up a little over 200ml and make two at a time

    Hello. Nice job. I got myself a resin kit at Hobby Lobby. And some candle molds . I would like to know if you can use regular candles or those ones with a battery? I am going to make Christmas gifts.
    I can't find enough good things to say about those candle holders. Take care

    • @t3sslark
      @t3sslark  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I added a little brown to the blue to change the hue a little. I’m so sad that I lost the footage of making that one! But the process is the same as the red one 🥰 I start by pouring in the color (the blue in this case) then add clear resin, then white, and then the glitter last. I hope that helps!

    For sure they don’t melt when burning the candles? I am trying to make my own resin from styrofoam to make into holders for my homemade candles!!! If not resin, then def recycled glass, any tips or ideas???

    • @t3sslark
      @t3sslark  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! So far I haven’t had any issues or complaints (I’ve sold a few of these). I’ve only used a casting resin to make them so I’m not sure what the results would be like to use a resin from styrofoam! That sounds really interesting tho I’ve never heard of the process. I suggest just finding a resin that cures very hard! I wish I had more suggestions on how to use recycled glass. That sounds really cool too!

    • @chiloquinuniquecreations9924
      @chiloquinuniquecreations9924 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could use the recycled glass as the filler for your resin. Would make it so you are using less resin. Love the thought of you recycling styrofoam. Really hate the nature of that stuff. Let me know if you figure out a good way to repurpose it.

    After watching your video I went and bought the molds ! I cant wait to start but I really dont want to mess it up, could you please tell me approximately how many mls of resin you used for the clear, white, red and glitter ?

    • @t3sslark
      @t3sslark  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aw that’s awesome!! I hope they turn out beautiful. It’s been a while since I’ve made these! But here are the notes I wrote about them in my phone: Lotus 200 ml for 2 (exactly) use just a little bit of color
      Pour color, white, clear, then glitter for smooth petals
      Color, clear, then white for cracks
      So I’d say (roughly 50ml of clear and then about 20 ml each of white and then your color and then 10ml glitter 🤔🤔) I wish I knew more precisely but I hope that helps a bit! Happy crafting 🥰

  • @trishscreativecrafts

    Thanks for your video! I have bought these molds but hadn't tried them out yet. Looking forward to trying them! One question, after you added the acrylic paint marker, did you put some kind of sealer protectant so that the paint doesn't chip off over time? I know some people will put a clear coat of resin on top.

    • @t3sslark
      @t3sslark  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you!! I hope you have fun playing around with your molds. I’m not currently sealing the gold but adding a layer of resin to the top is a great idea. I think I will start to do this moving forward. Have you seen anything else that people use?

    • @trishscreativecrafts
      @trishscreativecrafts 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@t3sslark you know, I was trying to think about that. I know that I have used a sealer for decoupage crafting and after painting clay. I have used a glaze sealer - like the ones you use for polymer clay, and also a spray sealer and some people use Mod Podge, but not sure about with resin.

    • @t3sslark
      @t3sslark  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@trishscreativecrafts right. Thats what I was wondering bc I know I’ve got a can of mod podge and I’m sure the drying time would be a lot faster than another resin coat 🤔 may be worth experimenting with

    How do you prevent resin from drying in measuring cups?

    • @t3sslark
      @t3sslark  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey! I use silicon cups so I do let the resin dry completely in the cups and then I can pull out the cured resin and use tape to clean any residue out of them. If that’s what you mean? But when I work with resin I do my best to work within the working period of the resin I’m using (typically about 1 hour) so I don’t have to worry about it drying out as much while I’m crafting.

    Hi pls tel me measurement for each colour

    • @t3sslark
      @t3sslark  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry! I don’t get quite that exact when I’m making resin art. Just play around! But keep ratios in mind: if you want one color to be primary make sure you mix more of that color. I hope that helps a little!

    I have a question ⁉️ What I have to do I I want to put dry flowers?

    • @t3sslark
      @t3sslark  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would just carefully (so the flowers don't break) slip the flowers down into the mold before pouring in your resin
