I cant understand why our Fay would put this out. She is very creative. When I look at the videos of her contemporaries like Machel Montano. ..you can see the connection between story and song and he is quite consistent, not to mention successful. Here we see a video which is blatantly appealing to a European audience without any regard for the spirit of the song. Dont get me wrong, I sympathize with her intentions. .but Europeans have spirit and heart just like us! They too can feel the rhythm and intent of the song...and would naturally want to partake of it. They who are drawn to this song wish to partake of the Caribbean essence...a more interesting concept would have been to start in snow and have the song seemingly transform the environment into summer...the flowers blooming at her very command with the denizens joining her "on the road" of a transformed landscape..
I don't even mind the absence of the street parade that the song embodies but the concept was flat and did nothing for the song. It just isn't good enough for such a meaningful song. Same thing with Differentology that song was a behemoth and sadly the video just never delivered. A better concept world have been seeing the excitement & buzz of people in various parts of the world anticipating and traveling to the event that is carnival, focus on 3 or 4 different ppl, leaving the office overseas, at home packing, heading to the airport, touching down in T&T, picking up costumes & trying them on, final shot would be all 3 or 4 meeting just before they run off to meet the band. All this time Fay in abt 2/3 of the shots posing as different professionals assisting them while on the way to their destination. That take me 5 mins to come up with... they shoulda fire that person the minute they came with that crap. If all yuh see my idea out there, ah want muh royalties eh....lol.

Huge fan of your work. Loved the scenery and back ground for the beginning of the song "a new day's dawning" showing a different world. Signifying soca heading to a new level, landscape , audience. That part was great. But the rest of it has no entertainment or artistic value. Their is no journey or story line and the song is too beautifully written to be given that in justice. If I were you I would continue the story with zombies emerging from the story ...being razed from the dead or "awoken " her running ... And the n challenging them with the power of her music. Becoming the snow queen and winning them over. Dance choreography and a few cut scenes with similar concepts of "razing" and this video will be a great success. Just call this one a beta tester and announce that the real one will be released soon. 😎

The video... Guess she is trying to be different... None of the usual wuking up... When it first started I was like "Oh this should be interesting- judging from the setting"... I find her dress funeral-like and very depressing... Found the video boring as she wasn't doing much. If it was her alone with some dance moves at least... I applaud her for being different but I don't find this attempt successful.
