Nice One Ceirion, tell it how it is and no BS on the performance of the ARYMYTEK light which could be detrimental to your Integrity. It may be a very good light for some in a different situation or use but not for you. It certainly does look like the area and bait make a big difference, on the catch on the breakwater? I have fished it a couple of times in the distant past with blanks both times, both times during the day. One day, here's hoping to see you win one of the local comps which you enjoy so much.
Hi ceirion.. the float idea does work.. I used th use it in Weymouth for maccy and gars.. you need a much smaller float, a 2 up , short snoods,1 down , size 4s or 6s hooks longer snood,. And a 1 ouz ish wt.. I used a 2.5 lb carp rod..
I would think that a carp rod would be much better for that technique and possibly a streamlined bubble float as used for pike. The fish targeted here are not that big and Ceirion could use a drop net if anything larger came along.

@trevorroberts-o7q are the pike floats 'line thru' ? If so no problem, to alter depth of float as tide, rises, falls..
