Boyce is known for his set of eight symphonies, his anthems and his odes. Boyce also wrote music for masonic rituals.
The first movement (Allegro) of Boyce's Symphony No. 1 in B-flat was the first piece of music played during the procession of the bride and bridegroom at the conclusion of the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2018. - เพลง

Cue Chatsworth house in Derbyshire, ladies dressed in crinoline, wafting their fans, flirting with the gentleman as they walk down the stairs to the garden party. And William Boyce, symphony no. 1 being played by the court orchestra of the time. So quintessentially English. ......
I have this cd too ... I've always liked this piece !! ...I God damn love that walking bass :p :)
Wonderfful !
Boyce it such a fine composer along with the 8 Symphonies are the 12 lesser know Overtures and they are just as good.
That High Bb does it for me; every time!!!
Eduardo Poblete de Chile, hermosa música y notable interpretación del maestro Pinnock.
Small world! I’m currently in a class studying some of Dryden’s poems, especially those dealing with Aristotelian scholastics vs Empiricism and naturalism and the overall progression of intellect from past venerated traditions
Very good part writing.
Gee - I could spend the rest of my life iscovering well crafted music just from Masters of the 18th century . So in England there is more than J.C.Bach . Boyce is measured , stately and a little sexy sensuos in the slow movement . It's flute singing a personal missive for all to hear .
Go back to the 17th century and there is HENRY PURCELL. Prepare to have your mind blown. Try Voices of Music with San Francisco Girls Chorus rendition of Dido & Aeneas (or any of the extracts also on TH-cam. The performance is authentic in that it was performed by the young ladies in a girls' school in Chelsea in the 1690s.
Handel! 😁
J S BACH; for Baroque it's got to be...
