My first instinct is like omg noo do not put stars over those beautiful cables! but then, actually what have you got to lose because you could add them and then if you get bored of them or they don't feel as classic and grown up you can just take them off again, it's not going to alter the garment ultimately.. amazing work!! I wish I had the patience for a seamed cabled garment, seriously impressive x
I knit the Lion Brand version of this cardigan for my sister and I added the star patches. She says she wears it all the time so the patches don't affect wearability for her at least. I got iron on patches from Joann's and I intended to hand sew them on but it was too frustrating so I ironed them on. The sweater is a year old now and the patches are still on.
Yay!! I love silly Christmas movies too! In fact tonight it's pizza and Christmas movie night with my friend to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season😍😍 The Holiday is the bestest Christmas movie in my opinion and I would looove a "Characters in stitches" video about is. And as for the folklore cardigan, first, girl it's looking beautiful, sis Taylor would be so happy so see it, and second, I would probably not add the stars but just for a matter of wearability. But if you like them, totally go for it, the cardigan will look fantastic either way🥰
I would add stars to the cardigan- but like embroidery with a silver thread just the outline so you get the hint of the go. You can then unpick it much easier if you change your mind later down the line. just an idea! X
i am so shocked by the picture of your wip at 13:26 because I started knitting a baby bamsesweater in white with light blue stripes and it looks EXACTLY the same as yours?? mine has been decomposing in my wip graveyard for a year because of the same issue with jogging stripes. my mind is blown
the folklore cardi is so cute! (thought, although you probably already clocked this : make sure you mirror the other sleeve wrong if necessary to get the outside cable on the back ) i vote no patches! i would like it for longer less on the nose and more classic / representative 🤷🏼♀️ but either way with all of us voting you’ll finally know what you actually want! 😂 sometimes that’s the benefit of other peoples opinions is it make your own clear to you!!
Confession: the first few times I saw the Folklore cardigan I did not understand that it was a Taylor Swift reference. 😂 Stars or no stars, the cables are beautiful.
Not a huge fan of patches personally, but they probably help to achieve the full vibe. I think if the stars were knitted in with colorwork, it would be a little bit more contemporary.
excited to say that the baby blanket is only 24 squares! so with four squares done before Dec 1 I'm feeling not as bad haha

I really enjoy watching knit planning videos I look forward to seeing your 2024 plans. I won't be starting my folklore cardigan till next year.

UGH I relate to that uneasy feeling of working on something that you're just not loving. Blanket is going to be so cute though!
can't wait to see the finished cardigan!!! i say no star patches, keep it classy
Shepherdstown is such a great town!!!
Hahaha I have done that with the side seams before 😂 made me chuckle to see I'm not the only one
So glad I am not alone in this ahaha

This is a great idea! I would just have to trust my embroidery skills haha
this is genius!

a game night favorite in our house!
PLEASE do the cast in stitches for The Holiday!!! (also perfect pitch for White Christmas lol)
if you don’t want to do the patches, maybe get star buttons? i’m thinking of doing this for mine
Ooo I really like this idea

Yes! I almost didn't start the other sleeve wrong, but can confirm the next sleeve is wrong....in the right way haha

No star patches. You can put some stars on later if you wear holes in it.
