I don’t know if it’s been mentioned but for the bare yarn, you can heat it up in water with a little citric acid and it will take away the yellow hue.

I recommend the Berroco Vintage or Cascade 220 Worsted for your blanket base color! I used Berroco Vintage in 5101 and I bought them all from Wool&company (: 5100 is a good colorway too, but definitely a bit whiter. Cascade 220 in 8505 (white) was excellent for the base color for the quilt cushion I made! Both are super affordable, frankly as cheap as undyed stuff!

Same. My Stacy is huge, and the reason for it is that I have friends who are Indi dyers, and I get custom colors. Over the years, with my family, buying yarn as gifts has gotten out of control. Since the pandemic, I started destashing by shopping my stash. I make all my sweaters and tees due to my sensitive skin. I appreciate you mentioning the disabled knitters. I agree there is so much that people get pushed and you don't need.

I have a cheap "umbrella style" swift, but NO ball winder. I tried the back of the chair, and the swift is much better. But I don't really need a ball winder because I wind the ball itself by hand. I clamp the swift on a nearby table and let it free spin while I wind at my own speed. BIG TIP if you hand wind: make sure not to wind too tightly! It can damage the fibers. As I'm winding a ball, I'll usually keep two fingers under the yarn I'm winding, just to make sure there's a little slack in the yarn.

Can you please help me I am knitting the Ingrid sweater and I have got to the neck increases on the left shoulder. My problem is it says R/S which I am doing but the increase M1 would be at the sleeve edge not the neck edge is this correct

For the scissors, I do have a small pair not only for portability, but also because they're TSA friendly when I want to crochet while I'm traveling. Don't need fancy scissors, I just got a cheap one from a kids craft area in a big box store. However, I know a TH-camr who says she uses nail clippers as portable scissors.

What is the yarn used in the Ingrid sweater? I love the shade! Is it cascade 220 but what shade I couldn’t find the shade called heathers. Is it the fog harry shade?

ive been making my nephew a blanket for his first birthday, ive been working on it for a few months (im a beginner to knitting). I'm a student and I cant currently afford to buy yarn thats not acrylic/craft store. I felt a bit bad for using acrylic yarn because id heard that it had a reputation for being too cheap so its nice to hear reassurance surrounding that :)

I wasn't even watching this video to be inspired or get ideas for what to knit, but you made me realize I need to unravel a top that I never wear that uses KfO Pure silk and make the Side tie Tank 😅

I am eyeing Florence's pattern too! Its so classic and great for under sweaters in colder weather, but could also be good for hot weather on its own too. I'm leaning towards a bright green, if it goes well and fits maybe a neutral too or a bright pink? I'm doing the Stella quilt cushion now and using Knit Picks yarn for the main color and Sewrella minis. Would definitely recommend.

4:17 sorry I’m going to comment as I go as otherwise I forget what I wanted to say 😂 I watched a podcast on here today actually but already can’t remember who it was that gave a great suggestion about knitting bottom up camis. They said that you could use jury’s magic cast on and cast on just under the armpits and then knit the top first and you can pick up the stitches and do the bottom after. It normally works best in stockinet which this is. You might just need to pick where there are two rows of the same colour 😊

I think that a lot of summer knits are not size appropriate, rather than not being size inclusive. I think it’s up to us curvy girls to figure out some more flattering designs for ourselves that still check the “summer” box!
