Of course German engineering. Make it harder! I understand you like to put things back to OEM. But I only believe that to be things of mechanical value. This would have been a great opportunity to learn what is available on the market. And you do not need to research extensively. Better to learn on your own project than a customer's, you know? Especially since there would be an aftermarket speaker system that would be an improvement than something available 15 years ago. Cheaper likely too.

Absolutely 100% agree. For the same money he paid for OEM speakers, you could have put a much nicer paid of quality speakers, and a correctly engineered ABS plastic mounting ring. Which would have been a huge improvement in sound, with the same perfect fitment as OEM.
