I have the IC-7300 (and a second one I use for portable ops) but am getting tempted to throw one in my back pack when I go hiking with my Wolf River Coil vertical. This is a great tutorial. I had a problem getting mine to work, problems with my USB mic setting. Here it turns out that I had my Windows 10 PC privacy settings blocking, where I had blocked app usage of the mic. I still have some issues where the WSJT program abruptly stops transmitting on 80m once it starts, but it works fine on 40m. I got some of the snap on RF chokes and am trying them. My USB cable already had on on it.
Helping a friend with a 705, A bit confused on how to set the RX audio level to make the Green Vertical bar set to the proper level. I usually set mine to the level of just before it turns Red. The other question, how do you know you have the right amount of modulation for the power you are running. On my IC-746 based on the power level I adjust the mic gain to a ALC setting indicated on the display of the radio. What is the procedure for the 705. Thanks Ken

I fixed with a Toroid close to the PC.

Always tell what kind of computer an the vintage you are using. If you use windows 10 and I use Android 11 then your video is useless to me. KB7HNF
