  • Time Traveler at Silver Dollar City was the world's first Mack extreme spinning coaster and it was a revolutionary ride. When it opened, Time Traveler was the world's tallest, fastest, and steepest complete circuit spinning roller coaster. Add in two launches and three inversions, and you have one of the best spinning coasters in the world.

    2 things
    1. I like the stop in the middle. Because you keep spinning a bit after you stop, it's like a fun game of how you'll take the launch. The first time I ever got a backwards launch was on this ride. As always, it was exciting to see how I'd stop, but I got really scared because didn't know what it would be like, then when the voice said "ready for launch", I just braced for whatever a backwards launch could possibly be. Another time, a year later, I got a backwards diagonal launch (backwards, but turned slightly to the right), and the stop was so fun because I had no idea what that would be like. The stop gives excitement of how you'll face the launch and anticipation of how whatever orientation your car settled on will feel. Also, the diagonal backwards launch is the best way to face it because you get the feeling of launching backwards and sideways at the same time.
    2. The spinning aspect makes ordinary elements extraordinary depending on how you face them. That overbanked curve after the 2nd launch would be filler on most roller coasters, but I faced it pretty much straight up, and it was honestly one of the best parts of the ride. I weas on my back, but I could feel the overbank to it because the seat was slightly inverted, so it felt vertical, but it was a tad more, and I was still going sideways and hung up there a little, and the track is basically a regular overbank, but it can be a highlight of the coaster even if it is in the end, just a filler element.
    After typing that all, I realized that this is literally saying that the spinning means there are no dead spots, after typing it all, I'm not deleting it all.

      The spinning is definitely the ride's special feature and it uses that well.

    I rode Time Traveler for the first time in 2020. I agree with you that it is the second best coaster in the park behind Outlaw Run and that the back 2 rows are the way to go. very reridable.

    Time Traveler might just be one of the most unconventional coasters out there (along with Powder Keg for that matter). SDC does a great job with taking big risks that churn out fantastic rides.

    I rode this ride 4 times back in late July 2023 and I love the stop, it gives you this "calm before the storm" where you can catch your breath before going into a crazy fast paced element. This ride is amazing and easily the best experience on a coaster I have ever had in my life.

    This is one of the most underrated coasters that made me a believer in “spin” coasters. I was not expecting much and after dozens of rides it vaulted into my top 10. The floating drop out the station in the back row is epic. Every ride is different depending on the spin. Absolutely love this ride. It’s a beauty design and does not disappoint.

    Another amazing review! I heard Time Traveler doesn't have the typical Mack restraint issues (e.g. coming down immensely during the ride). That's really my only complaint about Mack's new train design.

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The difference is that Time Traveler's automatic check presses down on the restraints before you're dispatched. On the other Macks, the ride forces push it down.

      @@CanobieCoaster we came to the park Thursday but it was too cold and most rides were closed. Only got rides on Thunderation and Fire in the Hole. We rode Outlaw Run and TT again at the end of the day. When all the food lines were so long we found Molly’s Mill restaurant. Molly’s Mill was off the chart dining for an amusement park. It was buffet and a little pricey but NO WAIT and it was a nice way to relax from the busy park.
