Great vlog as ever Tommy. I'm also on the hunt for a road bike for active recovery, but also triathlon prep for 2024. Appreciate the detailed breakdown of gear and prices - looking forward to your future 70.3 prep series!
Not sure if 160bpm heart rate is high in that heat including some hills, Should it be a lot lower ? Your heart rate will improve your VO2 and you’ll get stronger over repeat effort with lower bpm at-least that’s what say myself 😂My heart rate would spike 160-170 when do trail run that has a lot elevation over time has improved.
@@tommynewell ok yes that’s range I’d stay at until I’m working hard at elevation climb. My training and nutrition is very similar yours maybe less structured, as I’m also training be electrician within reason everything is going ok once keep good balance. Only thing is haven’t managed run full marathon yet. Keep at it Tommy and we’ll done. It’s always refreshing check in on someone that has similar interests. I’m sure your heart rate will improve again with some continued easier runs. You have great pace.
Middle of the range entry level bike? Hahaha £5K with Di2 dude this ain’t entry level. Beautiful bike you’ll love it! Get ready to have your fitness levels tested. I came into cycling with a high level of fitness from CrossFit and Jiu Jitsu. Cycling killed me, but it’s amazing.
Haha i guess i was just comparing it against $10k-$15k bikes. I am loving it so far. I feel all the running and also having strong legs from gym has helped me heaps. I've had no worries keeping up with pretty quick riders so far.
That’s great news! Dude, it took me a few months to get my endurance fitness, makes sense you having a strong run game that you’ve hit the ground running. I look forward to watching your ride videos. I have a Scott Addict RC which took me years to afford, but so worth it. Take care.

Training is adaptation so training in the heat and humidity is just another way of stressing your body and making it adapt.
That’s it 🙌🏽

This was an easy run mate, ideally I want to keep my HR under 150BPM for these runs.
