I don't even remember everything but he had those dumbest women competition things. In terms of that kinda stuff, to be completely fair pretty much anybody no matter genre or condition got sh!t. The sexual stuff was only women tho, they knew what they were in for but still I wouldn't as Stern throw around that anybody is misogynist... I do think there was times Howard was pressuring women to take tops off if I remember right. Like fans taken in from streets and things like that.

@@chrism-_- Joe have said multiple times that when he was younger he was angry at everything 😅 So I really don't think it was just for women but overall attitude he needed to sort out. Also I don't even think the point is Stern bringing up the story but bringing it up Multiple times and then invite his ex to the show. Was it intended for making him seem misogynist or just for the pandemoniums sake, it still kinda paints him as the forementioned.

You are right about Stern . Here's an interesting story that reveals a lot about Howard .
STERN: DANA PLATO TRIED DESPERATELY TO DODGE DRUG TEST
The day before she died of an overdose, Dana Plato privately begged shock-jock Howard Stern not to submit her hair for drug testing - after saying over the air she was drug-free.
“She said, ‘I want my hair back.’ That’s when I knew she was lying,” Stern said yesterday.
“That’s when I knew she must have been on drugs.”
The 34-year-old star of the ’70s sitcom “Diff’rent Strokes” died of a drug overdose Saturday night after swallowing a mixture of Valium and the painkiller Loritab.
Her tragic death came just one day after she made an emotional appearance on Stern’s top-rated radio show, swearing her days of getting high were over forever.
When several listeners said Plato - who had battled drug addiction for years - sounded stoned, the actress, near tears, offered to submit locks of her hair to send off for testing.
Stern producer Gary Dell’Abate snipped a few hairs, and Plato said the results would vindicate her. “She gave us the hair - then she said, ‘No, I want it back.’ And Gary wouldn’t give it back and it was a whole big mess,” Stern said.
Plato grabbed the hair momentarily, but then relented and returned it - again professing her sobriety.
“We still have her hair. Obviously, we don’t have to test it now,” Stern said.
Stern’s bombshell came as several callers - and the mother of Todd Bridges, Plato’s TV co-star - blamed Stern for possibly driving her over the edge.
Bridges suggested Plato turned to drugs after her mom, Kay, died in the 1980s of a blood disease that resulted in the amputation of her arms and legs.
Stern said he didn’t feel any blame, insisting Plato seemed to be enjoying herself on his show.
“Maybe we gave her her last good time " , Stern joked . "

I think Stern gets this base is older and he too felt the need to evolve. I think it made sense for him. People who talk about the Stern of old are literally talking decades ago.
I'm not into Rogan though I listen to TH-cam clips from time to time. Rogan too has evolved; I wouldn't have pegged the guy from NewsRadio or Fear Factor host to get so big as he has. And the story keeps changing on Howard's end. First it was he heard Joe say nasty things to the strippers, then it was one of his employees heard Joe say nasty things to the strippers, then it was Joe was talking to Howard and said nasty things about the strippers. I think How is so used to being a shock jock that creates controversy that he can't help himself and can't keep stories straight.

  • @steveknick1978
    @steveknick1978 2 ปีที่แล้ว +88

    Here’s a decent list of their issues…
    - Rogan sat in the Jackie chair to audition for a full time job with Stern in 2001. He didn’t get it, which probably caused some resentment on Joe’s part. Stern had 10-15 million daily radio listeners (plus millions more nightly on the E! TV show) in the mid 90s to early 2000s. It was huge exposure for Rogan. At this point, Rogan was the “Fear Factor” & “NewsRadio” guy & nothing else.
    - Howard had on Jerry Manthey (Survivor) when Joe was sitting in. They used to date. Jerry brought up the fact that she caught Joe cheating on her, & back then she had confronted him in person with the other girl. An entertaining story & an uncomfortable moment = good radio, but it doesn’t present Joe in a great light.
    - Howard then made the comments about Rogan “not liking women” in general because Rogan had a distaste for strippers. Most men eventually realize strippers are fools gold, but that just means you don’t try to have a relationship with one.
    - Howard brought in a girl Joe had a one night stand with during the NewsRadio days. The girl claimed she got pregnant & got an abortion because Joe ducked all of her calls, which was interesting radio but again didn’t portray Joe in a great light. Howard had a pattern of ambushing Joe with personal stuff for entertainment purposes, which again was interesting but probably taxing to Joe.
    - Howard also ambushed Joe during one of their last phone interviews promoting early UFC. Howard was contacted by Joe’s two half sisters who wanted to meet him. Joe saw his father beat his mother when he was 7, & hasn’t spoken to his father since. Joe played it cool on the phone, but I don’t think he wanted anything to do with it & maybe saw it as a privacy violation. Howard didn’t care because he knew a (first) meeting on radio would be fascinating. I assume Joe still hasn’t met them.
Joe eventually learned that Howard (at the time) had no boundaries if he thought it would make for good radio. Joe decided he didn’t want to look bad repeatedly for the sake of making good radio bits to appease Howard - especially since Joe never actually worked for the show. That’s about the gist of it. The juice was initially worth the squeeze, but not so much after a while. Joe sees Howard as a legend & probably didn’t want to spar with him & risk something ugly happening, so he just stopped coming on the show.

I don't think it's their business or anyone else's and I don't wanna get into it for public consumption. I don't wanna defend myself and talk bad about anyone else. I'm not gonna sit there and let someone trash my name who's equally at fault for everything if not someone who hurt me very badly. It's an emotional experience I'd rather not have there for everyone. It's almost always more complicated than one person side of the story and I don't even want to talk about my side because it's something very personal to me and who I am. Maybe it's something I still struggle with and has effected my other relationships after that. I'm not gonna just take it and I'm not gonna sit there and air everything out. It's not that I have done anything I wouldn't stand on it's that it meant a lot to me one way or the other and I'm not about to get into it with Howard let alone everyone in the world. It's not something a friend or even a good person would do to anyone. Who you love and how it effected you is something very personal and powerful to people. It's not something that's appropriate to fuck around about. Relationships can leave a lot of trauma and it's not healthy for either person to force a public confrontation about it. I would find it extremely disrespectful and insensitive to both parties..

I was listening to old Stern episodes a while back & Andy Dick was badmouthing Rogan. He said Rogan had “a roided out little nasty heart” or something along those lines. This was late 90s early 2000s & Andy worked with Joe on NewsRadio. Joe’s steroid use dates back to the 90s.
      “Andy Dick Returns. 3/29/02. 9:05am
Andy's show on MTV is starting a new season on April 6th at 9:30pm and he says they do some really weird stuff on it. Howard talked a little bit about that and eventually got back to Andy's break-up. Howard's buddy Ralph called in and said he ran into Andy after his last appearance. He said that Andy seemed like he was mad at Joe Rogan more than he was mad at Howard. Joe had told a story about Andy when he was on the show and Andy wasn't too happy with it. Andy said he likes Joe but he is an angry guy. He kept saying that Joe is all '' 'roided up'' and has a lot of anger against women for some reason.”

As I lived in NY, but upstate where I could not get his show. He got on Albany. Then there was the E! show. Then I was every day. Slowly, very slowly I noticed that he was not who I thought and soon before he went to Sirius, when XM was separate, I really started to see a change in my view of him. He was a hypocrite and slowly with social media you hear about former employees...I actually had a subscription to both XM and Sirius, as I quickly got into Opie & Anthony and I stuck by well, best way to say is I stuck with Jimmy Norton and Anthony. Great show.

Another great episode! But you don't quite get who Stern is. You say he didn't know that his razzing was getting to Joe - of COURSE he did - that was the whole point! He always says good radio makes people uncomfortable, that's his goal. He was similarly relentless with Seinfeld about the young girlfriend when, after taking it for quite a while, Jerry tried to move the conversation along, but Stern would not let the razzing go. Stern is not jealous of success, he is is jealous about talent in the field he thinks he dominates. He is there to wound. And then play innocent. And twist what had gone down. There are so many examples. He hamstrung O + A, and he was a low-key jerk to Artie long before the heroin dysfunction. Artie became the enemy the day they took a poll and found RT was much better liked. After that day you can hear the knife twisting in a totally different way than the previous regular mutualoffice teasing.
