MRT is the best metro for me due to its price and quality and ARL is second best commuter train due to its speed and its sound(coolest motor sound i have ever heard in Thailand). Now I'm waiting for SRT Red Line which is going to open in August.
I liked how started with Bangkok one with MRT Purple line which is considerably right now the best line because there’s very little delays and trains are clean. And presented ARL almost last, as it’s the worst metro system we have in Thailand with so many delays and overcrowding stations.
ARL true purpose is just transport travelers from airport to the city so SRT(company which owns ARL) might not expect that there will be so much people use these trains. Also ARL has only 9 trains each train has 3 cars which make ARL delays on a rush hour(i take a train outside a rush hour and it not delay). But in 2021 SRT is going to open 2 new commuter lines (Dark & Light Red Line). I heard that these new lines have so much upgrade and use same speed as ARL(120 km/h) also there are 10+ trains per line. I hope Red Line will be better than ARL.

If there is any train fault or service disruption, the driver can immediately take over the train and drive manually. This will reduce the amount of delays time comparing to full driverless trains.

ARL is going to be taken over by CP Group after ran by SRTET for 10 years. CP Group is a private company which is much better at management.

It’s not a surprise Singapore got 6 lines covered 241kilometers and it already covered Singapore, the island is not as big as Bangkok! Bangkok 5 lines operational 159 kilometers with 15 lines planned and 4 under still construction additional 135.5km! Fortunately the system already completed one circle loop Blue line covered nearly all Bangkok, this help people getting around the city a lot! Once all lines are completed in 2025, it should cover 540 kilometers of mass transit system comparable to Singaporean system 😉
