Several viewers beat me to it, my wife and I both love and laughed at Rebecca's T-shirt about Jesus Loves You. We really enjoy the videos and watch them all. Thanks for sharing your lives with us.
Great job Rebecca, really liked the T Shirt Jesus Loves You.... I'm Trying !!Great job getting the pigs in the newer pasture so they can do some clearing for you folks. They do love their shower time don't they? Then they have the mud to cover their hide with it. Stay safe around there and keep up the great videos and fun around there. OLD DAWG DREAMING Fred.
Love the piggies and that b roll of them getting a shower really made me laugh, they are funny. Great you give them more space, they will love that. See there daces when you opened it up. Arrrrr so cute.
Glad to see the pigs in their new space with so much greenery to eat. It does look cooler in there as well. Rebekah, I loved the shirt you had on in the first part of the video. That was one of the best. Thanks for sharing when it is so totally hot out. I give y'all a lot of credit to be able to even function during the dog days of summer. Stay cool and have a Blessed day.
Evan Purchase a solid piece of steel bar same diameter as your slide hammer and about 4 to 6 inches long and weld to the end of your slide hammer. The extra weight will make it heavier but easier to use.
Hay Evan cool to see you got your pigs in a bigger area hopefully soon you can find a new Jersey cow so you can have a full farm agin thanks for sharing
Hello Evan,Rebecca that's a first for me to see Evan your lucky you didnt knock your self out break your nose or teeth. How easy a accident can happen. Yes me to Rebecca like your top. Have a great day pigs are happy.
I remember as a kid eating home made ice cream on the back porch on a Sunday evening and the wind shifts to blow across our neighbors pig pen and us catching their smell……good memories I tell ya!
Funny what smells one get accustomed too. I grew up on a dairy farm; did not bother me. However, getting a whiff of a pig or turkey farm was...not good. Eeewww!
Evan I feel your pain, I've done the same thing with the post driver. It was a heck of a lesson to learn with the fencing, but you guys got it done. Pigs look so happy now and yes the love getting hosed down in hot weather.
Like the T-shirt, too. My wife and I are just getting over chiggers from geocaching and when I saw Rebecca, in flip flops, I was amazed she didn't get bitten. Also, saw poison ivy when you were working to clean brush. Hope you won't get the itch.
Those piggies will have lots of fun exploring and cleaning up their new pasture. I'm going to try an electric fence to keep the deer out of our garden. They've become really bod this year, the rascals.
I don't know how Rebeka can stand working in that environment in flip-flops. I always have to have some good shoes on. Speaking of miserable weather, I got up a few mornings ago and went outside on the back porch with my cup of coffee. My weather station showed 80 degrees F with 90% humidity at 6:00 AM. Needless to say, by lunch time I was ready to call it quits until the evening.
I've seen videos where they put 2 bricks in a disposable foil pan and add cold water with ice cubes for the chickens. They love to stand on the bricks to cool off
I'm also in Illinois transitioning from a Central city to a rural location on a lake. I'm on my last few months of work before i retire and put my city home on the market. I can't wait until Im full time at the lake. I have the same duck weed problem you do, but first I have to clear some lake front area. I really appreciate the vidoes, especially from someone is the same area. So many people count out Illinois because of Chicago, but down state is really beautiful if you're willing to venture off the interstate.
OMG, you guys live in a jungle. LOL. The fence wire sure was a tangled mess. My g-pa said, do things right the first time saves time. Hope the pigs clear your land! 👍👍👍
That should be a lot better for them and you two, not just the smell but the nutrients they will be able to get access to. With fencing it's always a chore, electric has that special pain in the neck. We used it for our cattle when we did rotational grazing, seemed like I was spending half my time working on the fence keeping it charged and clear. Good luck with the new pen, hope you have a nice week!
sometimes if the ground is too dry try hooking the middle wire to the ground stake , hit 103 here today dont know what heat index was but high am sure!!!!
Evan, you have probably already answered this question, but what is your off homestead job. Just interested in what homesteaders do to earn a steady pay check. Love your channel. I'm amazed at all the things you are accomplished at.
Hey evan you need to make a attachment for the tractor to put your T post in the ground like a steel plate with a pipe that will slide down over the T post
Watching you with the real. Surprise you didn't have flashbacks of the bailer wire. The time you tried to reload the spool by cutting the straps free before dropping it the bailer.
Thanks for all your insightful tips Evan. How do you and Rebecca deal with ticks? We live in Missouri approximately the same latitude as you and the ticks around here are everywhere. We keep the lawn around the house and garden trimmed, but we seem to pick up ticks all the time. They love my wife's skin much more than mine!!
I feel your pain. Here in North Florida my wife probably picks a tick off of me at least once a week, especially when I have been doing stuff in the thicker woods.
An Ode to the Pig You're excessively pink making sounds that are rude You wallow in mud and eat foods that are crude After saying all this it's a love poem I'm maken' For nothings as lovely as the taste of your bacon!
Yep...been really hot and humid in Illinois lately. Midwest summer...oh boy!!! I'm south of ya'll but miserable here too. Pretty pigs this year. Are those Idaho pasture or what breed? Love how you and Rebekah work together....she's a hoot!!!

RELEASE THE KRAKEN!

The view of the pigs enjoying the water was fun to watch. They seemed like the only ones having a good time!
Evan

Hi Evan thanks for another great vlog I look forward to them
Jesus loves you, I'm tryin. Love the t-shirt. Many days I feel like that. Rebecca should pick out T-shirt logos for your merch.
Are those flip-flops FFA or OSHA approved? 🤣🤣🤣
Four little piggies living their best life! 👍

Those lock jaw tpost insulators are great.

Great video! Happy piggies!!! 🐖🐖🐖🐖

Love little piggies!
Your piggies have grown so big! Really nice to see them in their bigger area with all that shade 👍
They are getting so big!!

We had ab107:here In Texas today!!!
Enjoyed the video. You could try 3D printing a jig for the fence wires so they don’t get tangled. Can’t wait to see some more projects on the farm.
One of our pigs has started jumping completely over our electric polytape at feeding time. So needless to say I've got to raise my fence up higher lol
Ha! I follow your channel too 👍
@WaldenSpawn hey that's awesome! Thank you
sometimes if the ground is too dry try hooking the middle wire to the ground stake , hit 103 here today dont know what heat index was but high am sure!!!!

Happy piggies!
Flip flops are not OSHA approved for installing fence posts. LoL
I used rebar posts plain , nothing on them but insulators. Always seem to work ok.
You and Becky did a great job, Release the hogs !!!!
Happy Pigs!!❤ 🐖
Who let the pigs out!
my wife also insists on farming in sandals! lol
Hi Evan, I watch Pete on”Just A Few Aces Farm”,

No, just a walkout basement.
Happy pigs, tasty bacon
I just love your posts! Rebecca cute toes, but as a TH-cam momma wear shoes!! I was thinking how you hate snakes, you know what I'm saying?! Lol
Thanks for all your insightful tips Evan. How do you and Rebecca deal with ticks? We live in Missouri approximately the same latitude as you and the ticks around here are everywhere. Interesting point. Will the pigs be prime targets for the ticks since they are in a brushy, woody area now?
I noticed Rebecca didn't have her snake boots on
An Ode to the Pig

Yes we still like it. It is a commercial toro mower, not cheap but built tough.
Yep...been really hot and humid in Illinois lately. Midwest summer...oh boy!!! I'm south of ya'll but miserable here too. Pretty pigs this year. Are those Idaho pasture or what breed? Love how you and Rebekah work together....she's a hoot!!!
