The hardest part I found was getting those fiddly wres back on. You have to be VERY careful. Damage the connector at the end of the wire and you're screwed. Also better to get the new drivers and have them ready before you change the WiFi card as once you've changed it, without its new drivers, you won't get on the Internet to download them.
wil be trying this on my dell d620. currently has the 1390 card that doesnt have N band. Windows 7 installed. ordered the card you put in. Hopefully it works.
I decided to do this to my D820, becauseI had a Toshiba Satellite A305 i was selling on ebay, not for much so i just parted it out and realized i could put it's wifi card in my D820, so now i get around 300 mbps rather than 54. Same with my Inspiron 9400, but it was half the size of it so i need to get an adapter.
