I wish I had your knowledge on the electronics portion to find these fish. I don’t have a live scope but side view…thanks for your videos and showing us all proper techniques. Walleye fishing is new for me but man is it fun targeting these beauties
Hey I don’t have side imagining and probably will never get it cost too much could you also explain how you’d breakdown a lake with just regular sonar thanks you do have good videos
You need to come to Grand Rapids MN and hit Pokegama Tom Boley. There are TANK walleye in the lake, but they a very difficult to get to bite because of the huge amount of bait fish in the lake. Could use someone with your skill level to break down the fall bite!
It's a beast of a lake for sure @@TomBoley. I've seen many 30+ come out of there by friends, but I have yet to snag one over 30 out there myself. Didn't know you have been there already. Will have to check out the video. Thinking I may have to run over to Leech now though! Haha!
Tom as you are going and see the fish on your SI are you slowing the boat, spot locking or continuing at the same speed but trying to get your bait in front of the fish for a cast or two?
Tom, When are you going to come up with a Shebly Merchandise? maybe she can create her own channel? any ways can you fix your hummingbird link? and can you add links to your lures and direct links ?
Is this water temp around the upper 50’s, lower 60’s like your last video? I’m new to actually “learning” how to fish so I’m trying to gather as much info as possible. We can’t seem to find them here. Water temp is 68. Seems I should be looking in deeper water (deepest is 30 feet at my home lake) according to other videos. Any thoughts Tom?? Anyone?
I enjoy your videos. You looked like a kid in a candy store catching nice walleye after walleye. Knowledge is power! Keep up the great content! Thanks!
New to fishing and love your videos! Learn lots and applying it here in the lakes of North Eastern Ontario. Dang!! would love to fish a day with you slamming all those walleyes 😳
Love your channel.. I've been bass fishing and when I found your channel I was like that is awesome, I went out bought a set up to do jigging and catch some walleyes but I'm having hard time doing it.. Can you look at " Hardy Pond Dam " Which is part of the Muskegon River in Newaygo Michigan and maybe give me some pointers on were I might find them out here... Anyway, keep up the great content.. Love how you dissect your lakes and show the process...
@@TomBoley I just moved here, basically just for the fishing! I'm pretty lost during the day but the bite is super reliable in the evening now that it's October. Anyway, huge fan of your videos!
Good video as always, could you do a video on fall nighttime fishing, especially from a river... Tried my luck on the St.Croix last night and had trouble hooking into anything besides some massive carp
Good Point Tucker. Have we gone too far with electronics? Fishing has become all about the numbers, who catches the most and looks good doing it? Fishing becoming like golf, in fishing the winner is who catches the most, has the nicest outfit and best equipment. What challenges do resource managers have to keep fishing on par for the future? Those who have been around the sport a long time don't like to see and realize what fishing is becoming. Sales of outdoor equipment provides management dollars so certainly we don't want to ty the hands of the outdoor industry. All fueled by social media, the desire for sportsman for the "look at me" at what I can do. Last question or comment what are we teaching our kids about the outdoors, certainly stewardship of our resources is "not" on the top of the list....just some food for thought
@@garykorsgadentreeguy8906 you make some good points. Evolution of electronics and equipment is not going away, this is where I hope (although I’m not optimistic) that our DNR will step in and adjust bag limits and seasons accordingly. Like Tom says in the video, he releases all of his fish and we should too. I agree with him to a point, just because you can catch a limit doesn’t mean you should keep a limit, one or two to keep is more than enough to eat. On some lakes in MN the dnr adjusted crappie bag limits to 5. I think that should be statewide and they should close the season during the spawn. Walleye limit should be 2, one under 18 inches and one over. Promote catch and release and you will preserve our lakes no matter what kind of electronics come out in the future.
Great video Tom! We were just up there too and did the same thing on a flat close to deep water with the same results. Love Leech Lake! Hope to see you up there some time.

Great video once again
Tom - what is that jacket you are wearing?
when do you use the power troling moter do i even need one.
Sonar is really cool..! You’ve helped me a lot with my settings. And you don’t need to keep everything you catch..!!!
zebra mussels 😢in there ?
Welcome to leech lake!

Annnnnnd this technology is why walleye numbers are dwindling across the northwoods
I always say....did the technology kill the fish or did the angler
Great video. Good info. You would like our new walleye video in Branson! Some bikini action and nice walleye.
Great video
Love the Leech!!!!
Me too
Another great video, great information
Thanks for commenting on every video....I appreciate it
I was just as happy as if I were in that boat.
Thanks

You’ll never catch the fish he’s catching in this video without side imaging and especially 360
It would take 10 times as much driving and some luck
@@TomBoley And would be boring to watch.
What mount did you use for the 360 and does it fit in sport trak rail system on a Lund

Does this pattern work on the north sand on Mille Lacs?
Absolutely but wait til the temps drop another 5 degrees

what brand of bracket are you using for your 360? is it attached to the Aluma Track? thanks
Geigertech mount. Made in Ontario
Yes and then I made a bracket that attached to alumatrac bracket

Fall is an interesting time and varies greatly lake to lake.....I'll do a new video aoon
I understand. There can’t always be a set place where they are or it wouldn’t be fishing 😂. I watch all your videos and appreciate all you do for us
Red lake???
Nov.....
Rocking the microphone wind muff. Seemed to work pretty well.
Seeing fish doesn't always mean catching them. Sometimes it frustrating as heck to see them and have them not bite no matter what you do.
Yea especially in the winter ice fishing with a vexilar
Agreed
you going to do any musky sucker fishing this fall/winter?
Idk....walleyes are biting

@Tom Boley, Do you ever fish Winnebago? I've seen a ton of your videos and it being known as a 'walleye factory' seems like a perfect match.
Yes he does William
Winnebago sucks

Yes
Where do you get your tackle? I've been searching for the jig you used and I can't find it.

Great content, advise, technical info. Enjoy your videos, try to incorporate into my fishing here in northern lower michigan. Keep em coming.👍🇺🇸🎣
Can you show more screen shots so we can get a better idea of what it should look like on the screen to help improve our sharpshooting technique.
Most the time I do but in this video all the shots looked the same

Hey Tom, do you ever fish at night in the fall? There’s some guys I know fishing ultra clear lakes at night having a lot of success jigging at night.
Yeah....generally a good bet post turnover
🤣🤣🤣 nailed It. Minnesota fisherman drift or pull lindy rigs period, takes a Wisconsin fisherman to show them there are other ways to catch fish.
