    I like that platter. " Purple Haze ". I got to meet Jimi at Woodstock in 1969. I bet he would have liked the platter too. Peace out my friend. ✌👍💜

    What a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. The electric purple really makes the grain on the rim stand out.

    Peggy great to have you back and what a project to come back with I love the purple in the grain, also I would love to try Acks paste but unfortunately N.Ireland is a bit too far for him to post and probably far too expensive for me to buy even if he did post to here 😁 can't wait to see what you have coming next 👍👍👍

    • @PFWoodturning
      @PFWoodturning  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love the laguna. Worth every penny. Pros are stability. Range of sizes. Outboard turning. I can’t think of any cons...except it’s heavy as heck and was hard to get in the basement!! Highly recommend it.

    Could you please return to normal video speed when you stop the lathe (it's interesting to look at the intermediate result) or when you show something on camera (like tools, oils, pastes etc.) in the next videos?
    I'ts hard to notice anything if it lasts half of a second :)
    Anyway, video and platter are very interesting!

    This is my first time on your videos. That's a really nice piece. I'm new to turning, this year. I wondered if the Ack's was an American equivalent to Yorkshire Grit and Hampshire Sheen.

  • @KevinCoop1
    @KevinCoop1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm going to ask a dumb question. I've never used the paste. Isn't the reason for the grit paste supposed to be for the grit to smooth the wood? Would that mean put it on and rub it on the wood, not put it on and wipe it off as fast as you can?

    • @PFWoodturning
      @PFWoodturning  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not a dumb question. With the abrasive paste, you rub in it in the wood and then buff off the excess.

    • @KevinCoop1
      @KevinCoop1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      PF Woodturning Since you do not put anything on after the paste, do you find that the surface dulls or hazes after a while? When I use wax and oil mixed together(like the past is) it hazes.

    • @PFWoodturning
      @PFWoodturning  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KevinCoop1 Hi Kevin. I put a complement of abrasive paste and then a polishing paste (same brand). I don't experience any dulling.

    • @KevinCoop1
      @KevinCoop1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      PF Woodturning Ok thanks! Maybe the sanding sealer is what makes the difference. Keep on turning! Respectfully, Kevin

    Another thumbs up Peggy. Is purple haze the color of the gloves or the tint you apply? Just trying to be funny here. I've never heard you laugh. And who is Jim?
