I can’t agree that Chychurns points he put up in his 17-18mins couldn’t easily be replaced by a healthy Josh Norris and the additions of Perron and Amadaio. Too many times last season the sens had trouble boxing out the front of the net and losing defensive zone battles, I see Jensen and Kleven as the solution to that. Sens have enough offense on the back end between Chabot and Sanderson.
I really hope the organization does not give up on Boucher. His value couldn’t be any lower so you might as well hope for the best with this kid and pray he can stay healthy. For every Logan Brown there’s a Mike Hoffman. Hoff didn’t hit till 25 so there’s always a chance 🤞🏻
The defense analytics for the team last year were middle of the pack. Adding Jensen makes the top 4 more responsible, I think we are better on defense, at least in the top 4. Could definitely use a 3rd pair veteran left D, but if kleven can make the team maybe we can go without it.
Chychrun was trash last year, half a point per game or not. If he were here this season, we would have had the same problems. Adding Jensen fixes some of those problems, as long as he can still play. Sanderson/zub were analytically one of the best pairs in the league, giving chabot a responsible partner like Jensen will allow him do do his thing offensively more effectively, knowing hes got someone covering for him. It was our goalies who killed us last year. Korpisalo was horrible, and forsy was bad.
One more: Roby being useless in a WJ when he was one of the youngest players, vs shining a year later, is not even remotely a sign of inconsistency. McDavid played second fiddle to the Curtis Lazar line his first year at the World Juniors because he was much younger than those three. A year or two age difference is massive for a teen.
I by no means am a big fan of yhe Bourgault Jarventie trade but Bourgault isnt that mich worse than Roby and he is definitely a better prospect purely on potential than Boucher and Pettersson he should be around our 5th-7th best prospect and Theo Wallberg should definitely be in the top 10
I normally see reasonably eye-to-eye with you guys, but beg to respectfully differ in two areas re. today's pod. First, you rely quite heavily on our pal Wheeler for prospect rankings. You also like McKeen's. Wheeler ranks Oilers' prospect pool superior to ours, and had Borgault ranked as their second-best prospect -- and had Roby fifth for us. McKeen's also had Borgault as their top prospect not that long ago. I'm wondering if there's a conscious or unconscious bias to favour potential or past guests of the show? Can't fathom how Oscar P. or Boucher would rank higher than this new kid. Second, like others, I can't fathom why you'd state as fact that the D is worse. We've had HOW many years of cries to the heavens that we need a top four RD? Chychrun was supposed to fill that hole and was a complete flop. We were never going to win with that guy. Selfish, soft and not very bright. Branny is replaced by Kleven, a likely win, and Sandy a year older and necessarily better. Maybe the Chabot surgery fixes his play as well. Hard to see by any objective standard why our D would be so clearly worse this year. I think you guys are bending to the superficial knee-jerk reviews by Athletic writers and the bitter Seravelli that knowingly and conveniently ignore the fact that the entire league had months to make legit offers for JC -- and yet this was the best offer that suited our needs that came forward. Staios is not an idiot -- this is clear. The idea he'd get suddenly dumb on this deal is a wild reach. Oh, and these critics also said Dorion won the Cat and Chick trades.
OK..... Sorry not sorry.... But Ross you are totally out to lunch on Sogaard and Merilainen..... Sogaard is NEVER going to be a starting NHL goalie with Sens. You say he needs to get 50 games with Belleville next year.... Merilainen has future Sens Starter written all over him. Mads I'm sorry is too lanky and clumsy to be an NHL starter. Merilainen dominated the ECHL...and now he should be the one given 50 games in Belleville....sorry man.... putting all your chips on Mads is a losing effort...similar to Pinto's proxy betting... it never ends well....Ranking Merilainen as #7 is a joke!
Disagree the D-corps is worse than last year?? We traded out LD Shytchrun for a solid RD, are bringing up Kleven, and Sanderson and JBD have another year of experience under their belt.
Stoked to hop on with you guys soon!

Kleven needs a good camp and Amadio needs to be able to play effectively in the top 6 if Norris needs time to make it back.
Amadio doesn't need to play top 6 we have plenty of that

@@newquinn22 Chychrun had way too many defensive mistakes. Don't forget Martinapalo as insurance.

Where is the Sens Central merch? I can’t find it online.
All here!! Appreciate you ❤️ senscentralpodcast.deco-apparel.com/
We dont need anymore offense from the back end. I think our top 4 looks way better with jensen and if kleven can make it up, im stoked

And Guenette also not close to Bourgault in pedigree or potential. Looks like a career AHLer to me.

Staios is going to make Dorion look like a genius

I think your very very wrong. Mads has natural gifts that leevi might not have. But they both project to be starters.
