Please upload a service manual, I need to know what voltages to measure where and what it means when they deviate.

Nice job man! I have a GoPro 4 Black and have the same problem, which one is the pin for 5V? because the motherboard is slightly different

In your case make sure 5 volts is coming in from the charging port then look for the 3 pin diode in the video i said transistor but it is a diode. you can jump the 5v to the diode

hi! I have a black version hero 4. The 6 test points are not in that order... I have 0V on that collector pin. When I plug /unplug the usb into the computer, windows makes the sounds, but it would not power on. Also, that big chip is getting hot when having the USB or battery connected. Also, I don't have a black goo over those components. Any ideas? I would GREATLY appreciate any help! Thanks :)

@@exittech1282 Hi!. I actually managed to get it running. Yes, it was a capacitor that was shorted, I just got it out. Than I had 4V on that collector (I had 0V before). Still getting warm (not hot, but warm) when putting the battery in. But this was not the reason the camera was not powering on. The reason was that I put the V05.00 firmware. I found a nice tutorial on how to debrick the camera, I did that and IT WORKS fine now. Yes, still gets warm when I put the battery / or plug it into the USB.
      But it works.. for now.

There is capacitor on Rev B board which is already getting 5V in location you're saying so unsure at this point what could be the issue; check all other caps for shorts to ground but all ok, any other suggestions aside from binning it?

Hello there, perhaps you can help me. I bought an used hero 4... I tested... connected it to the app, everything great... I had even test it charge... we record some things (with the vendor)... but, when I was returning home (camera connected to 12v from car), it shuts down... Dead...
I dissarmed the camera... and found... not only some of the flat cables where disconnected, also, in the front 0:21 but a instead of the right, up, near the "IRD" thing... it was a zone a little bit gray...
It still dead... If you feel you can help me, please respond me! thanks a lot...

Hi! I have same issue, but with HERO 4 BLACK, no power, no usb connection, literally nothing... and the PCB heats up as hell. and the ic on 0:21 time exactly.
The IC is as3715 "Dual Power Path PMIC - ams Sensor" from AMS manufacturer..
But I found that the "2305" is P channel MOSFET. On the mosfet pins voltages are Source 1.9V and Gate 1.87V and Drain 0V.

If the ic gets extremely hot the ic maybe bad
