- This is a DREAM come true….welcome to Antarctica 🇦🇶 the Illusive seventh continent. After starting our journey in Chile, we sailed down to Punta Arenas and Ushuaia before crossing the Drake Passage….and here we are. We spent around 4 days sailing around the continent on honestly the worlds cheapest cruise to Antarctica (NO JOKE)

My wife and I will be taking a 18 day cruise from Florida to Buenos Aries and then 17 days to Antarctica for the second half of our trip. I saw your video first and told her we need to do that! Thanks for the prompting. All booked on the Saphire Princess for December 2024.
Omgomg!!! Amazing! Thank you & enjoy!
This is essentially a cheap booze cruise with sight seeing only. You don't get to go onto the continent, but you do get to buy expensive souvenirs from a vendor on the ship! Yipee!!!!!! And a certificate - WOW!!!!
@@dianacrane4532 for starting 1,4 k bucks per person the whole 17 day cruise. I take it night and day, hands down. Cheaper outcome than staying ad home and spending money ;)
Not worth it. If you want to do Antartica, do NOT do it on a large named cruise line. Pay the extra money to do it on a small expedition boat. You don’t get to get off or see the better things on a big boat like this. 2000 people? Lol my ship had 160 and it blew this cruise out of the water. Pay the money, so it right. You will hit yourself if you make the trek there and just get to look from afar.
2 totally different experiences, and it’s a lot of extra money 🥰
I’m looking into doing a cruise with Silversea, which would be a smaller expedition line. Did you feel safe in the smaller expedition boat?
@@jennny Silversea I heard is awesome. I’d recommend the Silversea Endeavor. I felt more than safe on the smaller expeditions ships. You definitely feel the water more, but these ships were built for that particular purpose; rough seas. And obviously the crew knows what’s safe and not safe. Crew and experience is entirely different than a cruise type of environment which is much much better in every single way.
@@M4A1Nerve ok that’s great to know, thank you for sharing!
Not everyone has the option of "paying the extra"!
Have some manners and class and take your hat off in the dining room .
Pahahahaa we did say why , we were freezing and it’s an Antarctica cruise, people were in their coats. Get some manners and stop being bothered by people living their lives that doesn’t affect you
Hello sir watching from Dhaka Bangladesh 🇧🇩
Yup... the bad thing about Hot Tub when it's cold... is getting out of it. 😆 Great video. 👍 Cheers and stay safe. ❤
Antarctica is my # 1 bucket list destination, but I wouldn't be happy with just cruising thru there, I MUST go on an excursion trip where they take you onto land and see the penguins and other wildlife in person
That would be amazing but unfortunately way out of our price range lol we’re happy to have seen Antarctica and wildlife and then one day maybe we can do an expedition (hopefully)🥰
Completely agree! I could give you a recommendation, but this is not the place for it.
I definitely called BS on the price you paid $2000 for an outside cabin with a balcony like shit. Show me the receipt. Maybe I believe it or better yet how many years ago was this and did you just post it recently?
We didn’t say that we had paid $2000. We said that you can get this cruise trip for this price (which you can!) 🥰
ANTARTICA PRONUNCIACION CORRECTA. NO ANTARTIDA ..
👍
you are very cool guys, I’m looking forward to your new videos from Ukraine, in particular from my native Odessa, after Ukraine wins, thank you very much
Congrats on seven continents. I'll be sure to watch a video from each one. Just found your channel tonight and subscribed. 👍
Aw thank you so much! Really appreciate it!
Why is the Guy shouting all the time?. I know your excited and all - however, I am sure being near him wasn't the best experience for anyone around him?. not being a Karen or Debbie downer but guys think of those around you okay.. I mean your not on the UWC!!!?!?!?!?!.. however an incredible experience just think of those around you ... good vlog just stop shouting please.. x
Lol, most of the time we weren’t near anyone and we had to talk loudly in some areas because it was windy. Nevertheless he wasn’t shouting. Thanks!
I get the appeal of getting to see Antarctica fairly cheaply, but having done an expedition trip in January on Quark Ultramarine, it’s a totally different experience. I couldn’t imagine going there, getting so close and not actually landing or getting off the ship. But enjoyed seeing what the other way of doing it was like! Here’s my Quark experience: th-cam.com/video/3KyojbPKyDs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=s4riPxpJmX0sqBkx
Great video! Totally agree, but Expeditions are not affordable for most people so we think it’s great that this option is out there. 😃🙏🏻
@@dabbleandtravel yep, absolutely, that one I did involved a loooong time saving for it!! Always enjoy your videos and travels, esp when the destinations overlap with where I’ve been or better again, where I’m planning! And thanks so much for watching my video!!
The difference is, that they can get off the ship, and you can't.
The other difference is that would also cost 10x the price, if you can afford it then that's amazing for you, but we certainly can't
I was on small expedition ship Polar Latitudes
Much better experience and more wildlife but more $$$
A cheap way to go with Sapphire
U know IAATO
Rules no ships less than 500 can send pax to land and only then 100 at a time
Hope Princess comped you
Totally agree! Glad you had an immersive Antarctica experience by going on a small expedition ship. There are expedition ships that are less expensive than others and still offer a true Antarctica experience. IAATO!
going to Antarctica and not going ashore is like: going to Paris and seeing the Eiffel Tower from 10 miles away.... swimming in the Caribbean with all your clothes on... being served a gourmet meal but only being able to smell it... making love with gloves on... touring the Louvre with the lights off... kissing your sister...
Lol well we can’t afford the price tag so hopefully one day we can. But for now we enjoyed this 👋🏻
So true!!!!! I love how you put that! Some people think they cannot afford Antarctica on an expedition ship. It is definitely a good idea to evaluate options before going on the ship like the one in the video.
Thank you for posting this video. My wife and I recently traveled on the Sapphire Princess but on a cruise to Alaska. We enjoyed it very much although had some problems due to engine problems on the ship causing port cancellations. So we are going back to Alaska next year on the Coral Princess. We have friends who went to Antarctica on an expedition cruise and we didn't think we could ever go as we are an older couple and my wife has some difficulties with mobility and walking. But now after seeing your video I believe we could definitely go on a Princess cruise to Antarctica. Something ne for our bucket list!
POst office , bank and. 5 G wifi. connection only in the Chilean base. Marsh or Eduasrdo Frei.
I'm sad that these ships are allowed to go there. I know from living on Vancouver Island, just the noise in the water is quite loud from these ships, not to mention whale strikes. I love Princess though
Thank you very much for showing us Antarctica. Goodbye Antarctica.
Our pleasure! Thank you for watching!
What a lovely video! You guys got so lucky on the Drake Passage! Loved all the clips of Bob, what a wealth of knowledge
Thanks so much. Bob was fantastic!
But on these big ships you don't get off.
enjoy bro
Great images but you just cruised past Antarctica
U need an expedition ship to land and really set foot on the continent
Yeah of course, however this is an alternative to those who cannot afford the expeditions and are looking for a different experience :)
Very true and price was right
@@alkruzins1168 how much did it cost?
Nice video and very fun production. We were almost decided and when I call Princess Cruiseline I got disappointed. They were unable to answer why it says the cruise starts on one day although the ship does not depart from Buenos Aires until the following day. I assumed you could be on the ship that first day and sleep there. They say you cannot check in until the second day of the cruise and need to book a hotel for the first night of the cruise, which it does not make a lot of sense. Do you guys know how it works that first day in Buenos Aires?
The itinerary has changed slightly as we started from Santiago in Chile, but we had to stay the night before boarding the next day. It doesn't impact the experience though!
Just booked 32 days on this ship from Buenos Aires to LA. I'm so excited. Thanks for the video.
Ahhhh that sounds amazing! Have a fab time
Thanks for the video. It doesn't look very crowded
Not at all! Thanks for watchin ng
Wow...
Love from Dhaka, Bangladesh ❤
After Kara & Nate u guyz r my favorite 😎
keep up the good job...👍
Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩❤❤❤
It is impossible to see the video with such a frightening pronunciation of the correct name, it is: Antarctida, with a "D", not with a "C". Two minutes and I had to take him out because it's unbearable to hear him say like that
Sorry for how we speak but we are not trying to please you :)
Then visit the Amazon rainforest instead of Antarctica🍻🥶
Must be freezing out there put the heaters on 🤓 Great Vlog Guys Enjoyed it 👍🏽
Thank you 😁
Very beautiful scenery. I will be heading towards Antarctica next January on an expedition cruise . I could have done what you guys did. However, stepping on Antarctica it self would be an accomplishment for me being to all the seven continents , unlike on a sightseeing cruise you are not allowed to disembark the ship to head over on to land. Expeditions cruises are definitely expensive and a regular person would rather buy a car with that money instead of spending it on a cruise. Expeditions cruises normally has 2 disembarkation a day, which can be a zodiac tour through the ice, kayaking, paddle boarding or landing on the 7th continent to see the wild life of the Antarctica , and to top it off with a polar plunge. So each type of the cruse has its pros and cons , and so I have been working really hard to be able to afford this type of expedition for many years. Very nice and helpful about the weather too, and what to bring.
Awesome!!!! It is worth saving up to do Antarctica on an Expedition cruise. Antarctica is much more than looking at it and the wildlife at a distance on a large cruise ship. Only 100 people at a time can step on the continent at a time, so it's impossible on this ship. I thought it was interesting when they put down Expedition cruises and had never been on one.
Bro is living my dream being with molly like that
Chile is cool !! 🇨🇱🇦🇶🇨🇱🇦🇶🇨🇱🇦🇶
Not to be a debbie downer, but did you actually get off the ship? Feels like if you didn't put your feet on land than it doesn't count.
It’s not an expedition, it’s a cruise. This is an alternative to those who can’t afford the expedition ships as they are super expensive 👍
@@dabbleandtravel Not all expedition ships are super expensive. It is worth taking time to look at all alternatives. I agree that if you didn't put your feet on land then it really doesn't count.
This is such an awesome video !!!!! thanks for sharing ! what month of the year was this?
Thanks for watching! End of January - beginning of feb!
The ship is nicer than the others I've seen, but if I go to Antarctica I want to go on zodiac expeditions and get close to the penguins and seals, go kayaking through ice fields, stand on a sheet of ice in the middle of Antarctica and take a quick dip in the cold water!
Brother your content is such an mesmerizing the view is captured my eyes till i reached to there so much love from Mumbai India 🇮🇳
Antarctica has been on our bucket list for a long time. We are planning a trip on that same cruise in 2026. Things we should look out for? Did you take the Polar Plunge? We're there any excursions from the ship you could do? Looks like a lot of fun. Great Video. All the best to you both😄😄 from Harriet, Jim and Yuki
Hey guys! Antarctica is a once in a lifetime opportunity we’d highly recommend. As this is not an expedition you do not do the polar plunge and do not set foot in Antarctica because of the amount of people on board. However the price point and the facilities means you can still scenic cruise through Antarctica and it was bloody amazing! Excursions are at the port destinations!
@@dabbleandtravel If you want a full Antarctica experience, please know this ship is not it. At no time do you get to step on land and that's a truly amazing and life changing experience. The zodiacs are a wonderful way to get close to the wildlife and glaciers. The ice actually makes sounds as you pass by them. Stunning! The polar plunge is an experience like no other! Certainly wouldn't trade it for a certificate. Decide what type of ship you are going on with a full understanding. There are expedition-type ships that are not as expensive as you might think. It's worthwhile looking into all of your options.
@@dianacrane4532I'm sure it would be simply amazing to go on an expedition cruise. However, if that is not feasible due to budget constraints, I think many people would rather cruise by and see Antarctica from a distance versus not seeing it at all.
Because that's where I want to save my money -- on a cruise going to the most inhospitable place on earth! Just kidding, Keep tripping. Love your videos.
Was it Alfredos Pizzaria or Pizza by Alfredo?😂
HAHA who knows 😂😜 it’s Alfredo’s pizzeria but fabbbbb
Lovely trip. You are both extremely lucky. What amazing adventures you are both sharing together.
Thank you! 😃
You’re going to “the wall”!!! 😅
😂😜
Hi, what month did you go to Antarctica?
End of January/beginning of February!
@@dabbleandtravel ✌
absolutely majestic. you two are very lucky and will cherish this forever.
We sure will!!! A truly amazing experience. Thanks for watching ♥️
2000 is not bad... that seems less than the NCL I was looking at
Fabulous! Thank you for sharing. We are on Sapphire to Antarctica next January. I pray we get the weather you enjoyed.
Amazing! You’ll love it! ♥️🥰
Was just watching a documentary and saw the Antarctica specialist in there too, what were the odds of seeing him back in your trip😂
No way! What documentary?
Hi. Remembering when I flew helicopters there. many times. from the Chilean base
Thank you sooo much for such a beautiful video. I wish you all the best!
Thanks for watching!
How did you find a 7 day cruise? The link you shared is for 17 days
This isn’t a 7 day cruise. This is just the Antarctica portion of the trip. We have other videos Chile and Ushuaia which was the port stops just before Antarctica trip. We also have videos coming after this for the rest of the cruise. (All explained in the video)
Ever hear of climate change and its causes?
In the nere future all the chips gonna, go from puerto Williams 🇨🇱 is more nere the Antártida
Yes that’s interesting! Thank you
Ice City Antarctica ice tica good looks ice City
Awesome video my wife gets vertigo and won’t Cruze so thanks for taking me along
Ahh bless her , I was a bit rough on part of the journey lol! Thanks for watching
When will you come to Pakistan?
I am intrigued how you got drone footage when drones are not allowed in Antarctica?
The footage was provided by princess cruises. As stated in the description of the video. Thanks for your concern 👍
Amezing video thankyou ❤
Glad you enjoyed! Thank you!♥️
I did a 9-day expeditionary cruise for only $5000. We spent 5 days on Antarctica. There were only about 300 people on board. Antarctic regulations only allow for a total of about 300 people a day getting off a ship. This is why expeditionary cruises are so small. So everyone can get off the ship each day.
We did a polar plug. Went to numerous beaches to see penguins and seals. Saw many whales. We visited Port Lockroy. We went penguin-sledding and had a snowball fight. We saw a leopard seal, and an iceberg flip over.
It wasn't fancy, but we didn't go for a ship. We went to experience Antarctica. If a big ship is all you can afford, then that's fine. But if you do your research, you can get an expeditionary ticket for not a lot more, and I promise you won't regret it.
Sounds like you had an amazing experience! We would love to do it one day :)
Would you please share the name of the cruise line you used. How large was the ship? Thanks ahead.
@davidscott6972 It was on Antarpply Expeditions USHUAIA, and the ship was just short of 300 feet, or about 85 meters long. There were less than 300 people on board.
We did this in February…drake lake both ways
Oh fabulous!

How did you get the drone footages? 27:18
As mentioned in the description, the drone footage was supplied by Princess Cruises as drones are not permitted in Antarctica.
I watched your videos from Ukraine several times, what a wonderful time it was
Thank you so much
Do you remember the deck number your room was located on?
We were aloha 200 (A200)

Absolutely amazing. Can you please tell me where did you book the cruise from? Any link or site? Cheers
Thanks so much! If you pop onto the link in the description, it takes you to our cruise & shows you where and how to book
Was there a 7 day cruise on Antartica during your trip in January 2024 at Sapphire? The itinerary now changed to 17 days round trip from Buenos Aires in our upcoming trip for 01/2025
If you check the itinerary, you’ll see the days cruising Antarctica , crossing to and from the drake and then the day at sea prior to the falklands is the 7 days. If you see our previous videos we started in Chile and sailed to Punta arenas and then Ushuaia. There are more videos to come from this trip. The route has changed and is starting from Buenos Aires now. Hope that answers your questions.

Thanks for watching!!
No polar plunge?
It’s not an expedition ship 🚢
@@dabbleandtravel wasn't sure if there was some kind of excursion
Unfortunately not. Too many people on board 😅
What a great video!! Doing this in December on this ship. What month did you do this cruise! You guys just made me even more excited to do this bucket 🪣 list trip..❤
Amazing! You’ll love it. We did the end of Jan : feb tour!
The difference with a cruise and an expedition on a small ship is that expedition gets its people to set foot on the antarctica itself
Exactly that…not to mention the price of the cruise 😅
Experience won't be complete without setting foot on the Antarctic soil/ice for that matter and seeing the wild animals up close, not too close as recommended by IAATO, every penny on the expedition is all worth it though
That’s a personal preference. It’s out of the price range for SO many people, and they can have an amazing experience on board this ship. 🥰
Pls go to salar de unii bolivia
Next time!♥️
