What can we expect from The Great Dark Beyond Mini-Set?!

    TBH I wish this wasn't a mini set, not just a single expansion, but a WHOLE YEAR Theme just like the League of Evil, you could easily make up 3 expansions for each race and come up with a bunch of new mechanics and keywords for them, here are my ideas
    The Terran expansion would have a keyword called "Armored" wich is baically armor points for minions but instead of stacking them, it would just mitigate part of the damage, if a minion has "Armored(2)" for instance, it would block 2 points of damage, we would have cards that would give Armored to minions as well as cards that would remove them
    The Zerg expansion would bring "Zerg" as a tribe and he Keyword "Infest" wich turn minions into the Zerg tribe, with so many tribes in the game and so many mechanis that play arround them, having a way to compromise your oponnent's strategy for a specific tribe fits the Zerg a lot
    The Protoss expansion would bring the "Protoss" tribe and new type of spell called "Psyonic" wich its motly a secondary type, for instance "Psyonic Storm" type: Pysionic/Nature "deal * damage to all enemies", but they are also empowered by the number of protoss you have on board, so we would have cards that could turn already existing spells into Psyonic spells to match with a Protoss deck

      This is cool and all but way, way, way too much Starcraft content for Hearthstone. Also, I don't think people would be on board with that. Nonetheless, I still wish we had a real The Great Dark Beyond mini-set with more Draenei and stuff and a whole new Mini expansion like the Caverns of time dedicated to Starcraft.

    I think because they specifically mentioned Grunty the Murlock marine in the reveal think that he is most likely gonna be a neutral legendary, but I do think that he is most likely the only true neutral card, I personally think that Druid should of been Zerg and DH should of been Protoss flavor wise, but with how it seems that they emphasized that Protoss are being given big creatures while Zerg are focused on aggressive it kinda make sense

      The main reason I think DH should of been Protoss is basically just the taldrim would fit so well into that class, and Druid is nature so it would make more sense for them to be part of the Zerg

    I'm here AFTER the whole mini-set and part of me is sad that it is a mini-set
    I wanted more cards and even more "characters" one. Zerathul, Tychus, Abathul, etc etc
    Part of me now wish we could get more Starcraft cards and is curious to when a new crossover will happen

    The thing that is bugging me the most is: Will the Zerg be Beasts? Undead?? Demons??? The Terrans will surely have a lot of Mech support (or even the Protoss).
    Also: They could do a very funny thing and make Protoss count as Draenei.
    On a more serious note: Why is Shaman a Terran class? Rogue (with pirates) is a better fit for how scrappy they are in the lore. Druid could be Zerg, DH could be Protoss (Dark Templar tap into the Void, which could be Fel this miniset. And there's parallels between the Burning Legion and the Zerg, especially when you consider that Amon and Sargeras are mirrors of eachother)

    I would honestly love to see Amon be the extra neutral card as a hero card. I can just imagine it is the only hero card that makes a change to your side of the board like C'thun.

    Alarak is a Protoss though, so I’m not sure why you created it as neutral. Maybe something related to the xelnaga could fit, like Narud

      He serves Amon though, no? But now that I've thought about it some more, what would have been really cool instead of Alarak would be an Amon Titan!

    Holy if the Starcraft ip has more than a miniset worth of content... You could literally make a whole new card game from scratch with it.
    I would personally make 3 things to properly portray the starcraft factions:
    - Terrans all are about quickly adapting (more than zergs funnily enough) and surviving, in st they have all this mechanic of their units and even buildings constantly swaping forms/states between 2. I think this could be done with their minions having something like "Spellburst: swap form" (having both forms the spellburst so you can constantly be swaping it). So for example a Siege tank could be "5 mana - 4/6" that enters siegue mode to be a "4/6 - Cleave. Can only attack minions" and a Viking a "3 mana - 3/3 - Rush. Deals double damage agaisnt Starships and Starships pieces" on ship form and a simple "4/4" on mecha form
    - Zergs are all about overwhelming numbers on all fronts so I think they should have these theme or drawing like a fucking toon lot and summoning easy to clear minions, you could also use the dormant effect as the borrow mechanic. I would add the keyword of "Really" which just means "Whenever you play a minion do X" (not needed, but I don't know why don't have this yet lol). So a Zerling could be something like "2 mana - 2/1- Rush. Rally: Add a Zerling to your hand" and Cockroach could be something like "3 mana - 2/4 - Elusive. Taunt. The first time this would take fatal damage, become Dormant for 1 turn instead"
    - For Prottos, they said they are going to add mana cheat, but honestly fuck that, I want the iconic shields. I would like the Divine shield effect but with multiple instances. This could either ignore the first damage taken X times or, the one I actually like most having just and extra health on top, with the caviat that any excess damage to the shield WOULD NOT transfer to the health. So you could do for example a Zealot that is "3 mana - 2/2 - Rush. Phase Shield (2). After attacking, if you have no Phase Shield gain Phase Shield (2)"; meaning the shield would tank 1 damage and still remain with 1 health and would basically act as Divine Shield agaisnt anything else. If you were to add more. I also really like the idea of your Archon, but they are famously knowing for having massive shields and barely no health, so they could be like "6/1 - Phase Shield (6). Spell damage +3" instead, that would make them slightly more annoying to deal with. What about Inmortals? "6 mana - 6/3 - Taunt. Phase Shield (3). While this minion has Phase Shield, reduce any incoming by damage by 3"
    They are obviously not gonna do that, but I would very much like that, think you very much.
    Ah, and if we don't get an Abathur legendary that Adapts (or at least upgrades on some way) all Zergs I am gonna be REALLY mad.

    Warrior: Blaze (the firebat in heroes of the storm)
    Hunter: Dehaka
    Rogue: Zeratul
    Mage: Karax
    Shaman: Tassadar
    Priest: Egon Stetman
    Paladin: Fenix/Talandar
    Druid: Zagara
    Warlock: Narud (in his Xel'Naga form)
    Death Knight: Stukov(infested obsviously)
    Demon Hunter: Alarak

      more ideas
      paladin: fenix or selendis in protross faccion or valerian mensk in terran faccion
      druid: prottos faccion talandar
      priest: protoss faccion rohanna
      shaman terran faccion: gabriel tosh
      and zerg demon hunter faccion is very complicated: abattur is guest but abattur is more warlock or in other zerg

    i don't think mind control is very good for starships meta even if you get a 7/7 with it

      I can definitely see what you mean. Still, I do have hopes that the Mini-Set will include some Starship support that makes them more viable, and more importantly faster, because getting your Starship stolen would mostly feel bad if you've been building it for a long time.
      But yeah, a Starship counter is maybe not what we need the most right now.

      ​@BlututhHS we're only getting starship support for the Terran classes and none for the existing classes with starships in the game right now mraning only buff and nerf can save the starship mechanic for this last expansion of the year. They'll probably be so much better after rotation with new cards and all the OP ones gone from last year.

    I really love these ideas and designs, but almost all of the cards you showed here would be very weak and not played in current HS. A current weakness with TGDB is that hardly anything sees play from the expansion, since old cards are too strong and new cards are too weak. So I would hate for your set to drop and be far too weak to keep up. We are getting nerfs + buffs in 2 days time, but I still think all these cards here could use at least a small buff at minimum, and some of them might need heavier buffs too.
    A few small examples is that [Missile System] should have rush, both because the piece itself is weak, but also because summoning the starship without rush would make it incredibly weak to play for, since your only way to attack with it would be to hit randomly from the unreliable spellburst. Starships are generally very weak in the current meta already, so they all need a decent boost (apart from a few), and I think your pieces should aim for a higher power level than what we currently see in the game for existing starships.
    [Zergling] should be "At the start of your turn, summon a copy of this minion.", or at least have a keyword or slight stat buff, both so that it could survive more easily, as well as so the summoned copies were more threatening. Simply because a tribeless minion that most classes can ping is not strong enough for current HS. [Peasant] was extremely similar design to this, except drawing a card is stronger than summoning a vanilla 2/1. [Peasant] was printed a long time ago and is more or less a worse version of current [Gold Panner] and wouldn't see nearly as much play. The fact that [Zergling] is more or less a 'class' card means that it should be stronger than neutrals like [Peasant] and [Gold Panner], which it currently isn't. If you consider the exponential power of [Zergling], then It's very comparable to [Irondeep Trogg], except that card came out a long time ago, is not pingable, and doesn't see any modern play, even when it was in standard (post nerf).
    I do really love these ideas, and I think they should get buffed so that they actually would see play and compete with the current format.

      I completely agree with your thoughts on Zergling. I was gonna give it Rush, but recently a lot of my cards have been called overpowered, so I think I'm just getting a little afraid to push the envelope.
