Thanx Frank! As much as I love the Milwaukee Road, I’m certainly no stranger to running Pennsy or NYC on the layout. I just found my K-Line C&O steam engine the other day and will have to do a run session before long.
Captbobbyb- Great video, although I must confess for a while I thought your answer to the challenge was to not have the engine move at all and keep the timer running to infinity 😃. Having grown up is SE New England along the New Haven, I’m partial to the New Haven, Boston & Maine, P&W and those that ran in the region. I do collect Hudsons though, several NYC, or the 4-6-4 configuration of the I-5
😄 THAT would make a great practical joke video!! Thanx for the kudos! New Haven, Boston & Maine, and P&W are roads I don’t see getting a lot of TH-cam love. Cool! Thanx for the kudos!
Understand the fall asleep reference absolutely. Age can be a factor alright, and perhaps an opportunity to catch some ZZzs we've missed at other times. Tribute and run, both well executed!
Marx guy here, my Challenge is, {How many Cabooses can your chosen Locomotive Pull}? Yes, you`ll say, most have only one coupling, and that`s the major part of the Challenge. Get out the paper chips and needle nose pliers.
Enjoyed the video. Thanks for the plug for my channel. I will respond to your challenge . I’m looking forward to lining up some of my favorite Milwaukee Road locomotives. Ken
Great video Ed! Really enjoyed the MPC weathered cars, didn’t realize they made those, I’ll have to keep an eye out for some. Thanks for playing along!
Thanx Dave! Here’s the funny part. I ordered a couple and thought to myself, “They look dirty. Okay, no biggie.” It was only after posting photos in fb that I found out they were all part of a series 😄
WOW That's what I Call Turtle 🐢 Speed Ed. Very Nice Video Example for this Challege. Thanks so much for the Listing. We will definitely enter your Challenge.
Thanx Matt! I’m looking forward to seeing your entry! Ya know, when the camera is on and I start yammering, I tend to forget to say things I wanted to. It wasn’t until the video was uploading that it came to me that I wanted to do a shout-out to your channel - sorry!
Do you collect the original 12” G.I. Joe’s or the later limited edition types? I gave all of my original’s to my nephew just prior to joining the military.
Since I am a sentimental caboose fan, I have a modest and perhaps somewhat irrational prejudice against "FREDS" aka "Flashing rear end devices". However, I do like the railroad boxcar on which your FRED is placed. I hope folks respond to your challenge as well. It is difficult for me to settle on a particular railroad since as a military brat I grew up in various locals. Perhaps the Pennsylvania or Erie, certainly the Santa Fe or the FEC or the SAL. A tough question to settle on just one. Sorry, no can do.
I hear ya John! I wasn’t a military brat - just a brat 😂 However, after 24 years active duty and going to places I never planned on, I finally settled into my hometown road as my “go to” road of choice for my layouts. As for the EDT/FRED boxcar, it’s my first and I do like it but the good ‘ol caboose will always be my favorite!
Hi Ed , I’ll take you up on your challenge 👍 Dave’s I can’t do , not enough patience 😀I’ll post a challenge video of favorite rr and maybe you get some more folks involved Thanks for your video 👍
Thanx Eddie! Yeah, your layout has a long run. If you did the slow train challenge you could go and binge watch the whole Harry Potter series, come to the train room and still have some time left! 🤣
@@Ed-ICE-Berg 🤣😂😂that’s what I’m saying 😂I’ll need traction tires when done,I just posted a favorite rr video hopefully lots more join in I have alot of fun when guys do challenges I think there fun,Bill bs boxcar was a lot of fun,I’m thinking of doing a caboose run challenge?or something, what u think?
Chuck over at “Chuck’s Lionel and Marx Trains” channel had a good response. He ran the train and timed it (30+ minutes) but only posted the end result - he didn’t record the whole running session.
Actually, the slow train challenge was started by Gold Standard Trains. Dave was just posting his version of it. Regardless, loved your commentary while your train ran the challenge.
Thanx for the clarification Del. I went back to Dave's video and sure enough, Gold Standard Trains was prominently mentioned - but for some reason I keyed-in only on Dave's mention of a challenge.
I was never a fan of the ETD’s but I do like this car and it saves me from having to find the right caboose when running a train. I may have to look for more 😀
The best thing about buying your own xmas gift is you always get what you want,,,,,,,lol i did it many times and its always trains,,,,no stupid socks or after shave stuff or something you dont need,,,😅
Check out Chuck’s train for s-l-o-w. No particular road name for me just toy trains to play with. I have some customized engines and cabooses that simulate a small local rail line. It may even be nonexistent any longer as tracks not used any longer. These postwar Lionel trains are just a low cost pass time hobby for bad weather and rainy days. Mostly non working fixer uppers and modify ‘em powering every “A” & “B” locomotive truck like real trains and get ‘em pulling long heavy consist. Nice weather is outdoor and garage with classic cars. Yes, too many interests.😊😊
Hi Ed, My favorite is PRR because of my postwar turbines. I also like NYC & C&O! Great video by the way!💯👍
Thanx Frank! As much as I love the Milwaukee Road, I’m certainly no stranger to running Pennsy or NYC on the layout. I just found my K-Line C&O steam engine the other day and will have to do a run session before long.
I am looking forward to see it when you get around to it. No hurry very appreciated.😊

Thanx Mike! It’s for that reason I try to keep my videos 25 minutes or less because when I’m on the watching end I get antsy and tired!
Marx guy here, my Challenge is, {How many Cabooses can your chosen Locomotive Pull}? Yes, you`ll say, most have only one coupling, and that`s the major part of the Challenge. Get out the paper chips and needle nose pliers.
Wow! Thanks for the Shout out Eddie!
You're welcome Mike!
Love those MPC billboard reefers. MPC was great with their graphics. I think they were under appreciated. Thanks for sharing.
Thanx George! I’m totally in agreement, MPC era billboard reefers were some of the best ever produced and at a very reasonable price.
Enjoyed the video. Thanks for the plug for my channel. I will respond to your challenge . I’m looking forward to lining up some of my favorite Milwaukee Road locomotives. Ken
Thanx Ken! BTW I got in a couple more Milwaukee Road cabooses the past week! It’s a sickness 🤣

@Ed-ICE-Berg That's perfectly fine Ed. I completely understand. No big deal. Have a Great Week.
Gi Joe's, trains and model kits. I'm guilty. I'm guilty of eating Fritos also. Great video as always.
Do you collect the original 12” G.I. Joe’s or the later limited edition types? I gave all of my original’s to my nephew just prior to joining the military.
@@Ed-ICE-Berg I have both. But more of the new ones.
I never saw a Fritos car before Ed. Excellent video 👍
Thanx Al! I had seen them before but they always went for stupid prices. I got this one at a reasonably affordable price.

My favorite Railroad is the Pennsylvania , being from Philly that's what I grew up with.
We have an MPC era L&N boxcar with ETD we picked up not too long ago.
I was never a fan of the ETD’s but I do like this car and it saves me from having to find the right caboose when running a train. I may have to look for more 😀
Former Milwaukee MPC
Dad worked for them, best colors,
Hiawatha too much $$$ for me!
Hiawatha’s are my favorite but yes, they can get pricey - even the used ones.

Ain’t it the truth 😄 However, I did get a really cool Lego Harry Potter set as a present!

I already have and he beat us all hands down in the slow speed challenge!
