You don't actually take damage from nerve pinch, as the description suggests, it's fake damage that doesn't take health, doesn't remove perfection and doesn't reduce devil/angel room chance, basically the same as a use of the dull razor.
you can hold TAB to see your most recent collected items and their descriptions. useful when you pick up items you don't recognize, like with that pink bag.
You should try considering installing the mod that adds tarnished characters, I understand the runs can feel the same after playing for that long, so having a whole new row of characters could be a nice refreshment ^^
