Thank you for sharing this! I was trying to figure out what the material was that gives it this look and your video is the first one that I found that helped me figure that out. 🥰 To answer your question at the end of the video, I like the results better for the kosher salt and sand finish. I think you're correct about the gold epoxy kind of absorbing underneath the mixture for the mixture without sand. Both finished pieces are gorgeous, but I'm grateful to have been able to see what the difference is going in with and without sand. I'm redoing a vanity for myself and I think I'll be doing this geode look with the sand+salt mixture on the drawers. Thanks again!
Wow, I’ve been dying to know what gives that affect. I figured it was Sand but I didn’t know what the chunkier part was. Thank you for sharing. I can’t believe it’s salt! 😂❤😊
Those both turned out beautiful! A bit different looks, but I do love them both! I am going to have to try this! Thank you! Just found you quite by accident so subscribed! 😍
Thank you for showing this technique. I have been wondering how people get that effect. I like it mixed with the sand, looks more organic and I think the chunky glitter adds to it as well!!
You're welcome. And I agree I like the sand better. I posted a bigger painting where I used sand. I left out the chunky glitter but used glitter glass instead.
I would like to try the sand with epoxy, but i am worried as to how long this technique will last for. Over time, does the products sand + epoxy = Shrink??? Deteriorate???
Very nice. I've been using Kosher salt for awhile now. I like it, it has a very natural look. As far as the geodes you just finished there both are beautiful, the one with the less salt has probably the most natural look.
@@Rouch2013 No, so far none of the salt has melted or been damaged in the resin. I use it all the time. In fact I've just picked up some beautiful pink rock salt I'll use.
Thanks for sharing that!! I knew about the sand but not the kosher salt. Going to give it a try. And to make it more sparkly...when the druzy at the tacky stage, sprinkle diamond dust an a few glass shards
Kosher salt and sand is my fav. Thank you for sharing

Those turned out beautiful
This video is amazing! Thank you for sharing 🌹
Glad you enjoyed it!
I like them both, but I like the one without sand best. It seems more realistic.

I like the one with sand better, but they both came out beautifully
Can you put this video on a larger screen?
Thank you so much 🙏🏽
They both turned out Beautiful, you did a great job 👏🏾

Would you please tell me if the salt melt somehow overtime? Is it a normal salt, the one we use for cooking?

damaged in the resin. I use it all the time. In fact I've just picked up some beautiful pink rock salt I'll use.
@@Rouch2013 This is regular kosher salt. No it won't melt in resin.
@@JeanLouise250 thank you very much. How wonderful salt is in resin creations.
So beautiful 😍
Thank you! 😍
Oh! Great idea! I definitely like the kosher salt with sand. Both are lovely depending on the look you're after. Thanks so much xo
Thanks!

Yes I did that on a larger piece. I added some diamond dust for more sparkle.
Thank you so much for this experiment. I'm liking both but I think the Kosher salt and sand looks better. They are both beautiful pieces.🤗💞
Thank you so much!
Great idea!
Thanks!
Kosher salt and sand.
Thank you for sharing with this tip. Absolutely love your result. Can you please share sand link in Michaels
Thank you. I didn't see the sand online. It was in the store in the aisle with crushed glass and shells.
Dollar tree had white sand too.
Hi. Can we use Epsom salt rather than using kosher salt...
I haven't tried it yet, but I have seen others do it. I wanted finer particles here.
Is this a canvas?
