All we needed that year was a world class CB to play alongside Kosc and we would have won trophies. Maybe also another goalscoring forward. Arshavin and Walcott were hit and miss, great on their day (like this day against Barca) but also atrocious on others, RvP who was injured every other week was relied on solely for goals. Almost forgot Lord Bendtner, Legend!

Won’t ever forget this match. 10 years old at the time, remember watching every minute. Vividly remember the next day at school (must’ve been the 5th grade), the teacher asked us to write down and describe the best day of our lives in our notebooks. I wrote down “Arsenal 2 Barca 1.” Absolute limbs.
I was 21 at the time, studying in Prague, Czech Republic. I remember that night... having dinner with some friends while watching this match. It was also my best day in life to that moment

The intelligence and awareness RVP has for the second goal is amazing. Notice the little pointing gesture he gives nasri to pick out the onrushing Arshavin instead, moves the defenders over by going late so more than one starts to move to pick him up and by the time they realise the real danger but it's too late. Love it. Miss going toe to toe with the best.

I am not a fan of Arsenal but I will surely miss Arsene Wenger managing Arsenal. It's sad that in recent years Arsenal fans were harsh on him. Real fans of Arsenal knows how much he loves Arsenal. He made Arsenal what it is today. He made legends in Arsenal. Players like Henry and others respect him a lot.

This Barcelona side was arguably one of the best football team in the world at that moment. Fantastic football, Messi at his peak, Xavi and Iniesta at their peak, Guardiola's tiki taka football was still unplayable. I was so shocked Arsenal won, even if we lost on aggregate in the end.

I remember this night. No one gave us a chance. Everyone said we would lose this game. Probably the most excited I've ever been as an Arsenal fan. Especially when Arshavin scored, the commentator screamed 'Arshavin!!!!!'. One of the top highlights of being a gooner. Hopefully many more are to come now that we are back in the UCL.
The second goal and the reactions from the players, the manager and the supporters, till this day, still gets me. Every single time.

@@joelargumedo94 I completely agree with you. But sometimes it was not necessary to lose players that were already natured in the system simply because they could not renegotiage wages on one end. It pains me a lot thinking about it, but I guess at the end its the players choices. I just wonder what it would take to have more interesting players and build up the team oncemore. Seems talent is not so easy to nature eg. Fabregas type of talent for example, VP etc.

Even as a neutral it was sad to watch How the referees ruined a great tie by basically helping Barcelona when Arsenal were leading the tie on aggregate.

Man I remember the atmosphere that day and the courage the arsenal players showed knowing how tough Barcelona were they didn't care they went out and gave it a ago and the fans were tremendous too with their energy and support.
I remember watching it in a London bar in 2011. It was a tense, beautiful match and full of passion. The bar erupted with joy, what a moment. The last terrific Gunners side I've seen. Hope Arsenal post-Wenger will bounce back.

And just like in any other job, if they're getting a better financial offer from another place or if they feel that their current employer are unable to help them fulfill their personal ambitions in the foreseeable future, they WILL leave.
Let's not forget that loyalty goes both ways. Football fans want players that are 'loyal' to their club. But once a player has long term niggling injuries or hit a bad patch in performance, it wouldn't take long before many of the same so called fans would turn their back on those players by screaming insults or even sending death threats to them.
Moreover unlike office jobs, athletes have a short career span. They usually retire in their mid 30s which could be cut even shorter if they sustain severe injuries. Therefore, it is understandable if they look to secure for the best financial offer available. Most of us would've done the same thing.
So my advice to you is; *Don't be naive!*
