I had a precision brass pencil sharpener from Germany. It might have been an M&R. It had two conical holes each with it's own blade. One was for shaving the wood away from the graphite core and the other was for putting a point on the graphite.
It worked really great sharpening pencils made for mechanical drawing, like from Eberhard-Faber. Results on a Ticonderoga were a bit surprising since the folks a Ticonderoga couldn't be bothered to center the lead in the wood.
If you got a high end pencil sharpener, maybe you could also get one of those kits for making your own pencils. 🙂

As a fellow content creator who is also self conscious, its difficult to be "normal" on camera without second guessing every single thing I say or do and then not being hyper critical of myself in the edit. Firstly, I can only speak for myself, yet I think most people feel the same way. I watch TH-cam videos mostly for information that will help me become a better wood worker. Yes, there is some entertainment value but that is truly secondary to me, and again I am speaking for myself. Nothing but respect for your guy’s skill set. I’ve learned a lot and I’m thankful for your videos but please know and understand I don’t really care how you come across personally. Less I be misunderstood, I don’t mean that in a bad or derogatory way. You are who you are and that’s fine with me. It’s the content for me, not the personality. If you can show me/teach me a new technique or explain something about a process that might not have been consider by me or others, then you have met my expectations I really enjoy the “Tips” videos and I enjoy seeing the process and the finished product. Your skills and projects speaks volumes to me about you, not how you speak or your body language or anything else for that matter. IMHO don’t try and change how you are or how you come across just build cool stuff and explain the process. How could anyone expect anything more than that.

It was pleasant, in the early days (I've been watching this long), to see your less professional workshop. I seem to recall seeing your son at time. You have always had polished videos (which I appreciate) but it's true that the videos had become more impersonal over time.
It's a tricky balance… what I like in your channel is that I never feel that I waste my time (apart for the repetitive SquareSpace ads 😝). On some other channels, I think I'm wasting time because the guy was too lazy to edit properly.
The less scripted moments give good insights into the creative process. So far, so good.

I absolutely love seeing this more natural side. The banter makes me want to have a partner to work with in my business
