So nice that people like General Awareness got the main message here! Using our skills to fix thinks is not only fun but a way to learn, ask for help, communicate and most important save the environment for more waste..
I come from a generation (the last really) where you repaired things if you could instead of tossing into a landfill then making Jeff Bezos even richer. I am excited to see the movement for the right to repair in my country with the FTC now saying (via a vote) we have that right as consumers. I am the first month of Gen X, but my gen became big in the 1980's where everything was disposable no matter. I never got with that mindset, so I am elated to see (thanks to the horrible ecological impact the disposable world created) that repairing is back in vogue. Help the world, help your pocket book, and become educated. Besides, it feels awesome when you can actually repair something (at least it does for me).
Hi, do you have a video for diagnosing damage/fix for water damaged laptops? my friend spilt a fizzy drink on his laptop now the monitor/display shows no signs of working however the laptop still turns on and charges also boots to bios when connected to external monitor
That's funny but the best way to get rid of any sugar/fizzy drinks is to clean the area with water!..So disconnect the battery and everything affected and use water to clean the contacts and parts affected..don't use alcohol 'cause is not mixing with sugar..of course dry everything perfect eventually with a hair dryer
@@viocaia so it is fine to use the laptop normally after it is cleaned? also the not working screen can it be fixed with a replacement or does it sound like a motherboard problem?
@@viocaia the switch is not shorted. It goes on and of fine. But the door bell keeps playing random sound as long if I but a battery in the remote switch it also disturbs mine gate signal
@@viocaia I've removed the battery and tested the switch with a multimeter and both seem to be fine but as soon I put the battery in it automatically send signals to the bell. It doesn't play one sound it plays random sounds. I don't know if it got wett so I tried drying it and that also didn't solve the problem.

Great video and I fully approve of your ethos. I am encouraged to repair my long tube door chimes. Somehow they have (retro) class.
Have fun
You too Trevor and thanks for appreciation!
