Phil is weird, because he always looks more skilled than the guy he's fighting, but his inability to absorb punishment just leaves him getting slept

The one thing that makes me think Rob could be in trouble is that Ikram clearly has a legit chin. That Khamzat uppercut would’ve put a bull down. Here Ikram shows he’s really durable and knows how to roll with shots.
rob deon't need someone to have a bad chin on him to win, look at the fights he won, costa, romero, kelvin gastelum ex.. he can hit you non stop till the end, his not a one trick guy
Rob doesn't really go for knockouts so I don't think it matters too much, he's a point fighter. He has won plenty fights vs opponents that have incredible chins.

@@RussianNosebeers don't look only at ufc accomplishments. He is a world Sambo champion, that is not an easy task. I still think Rob is favored to win this fight due to preparing for Khamzat who has a similar styles to Ikram, and also for the latter not having a full time camp.

@@RussianNosebeers I agree with you. Not every Dagestani is Khabib or Islam. The only other Dagestani who is in the UFC and trains with them since day 1 is Umar Nurmagomedov. The rest are just men from Dagestan, they don't have magic superpowers or anything. I like Ikram's style but his striking looked quite clunky and he had many openings which Whittaker could take advantage of (for a KO even). I could see Ikram getting a KO like Du Plessis on Whittaker, but his best chance might have to be a takedown (which is almost impossible on Rob). I see him as an underdog but we'll see, Whittaker doesn't have the best chin either.

Definitely. It looks like he made the read quite early when Phil switched to southpaw, you can see him aim for the same shot that ended the fight. But that head kick attempt connected with the knee which eventually led to the finishing 1-2.
Great KO, and no needless follow up shots, Aliskerov is good fighter and a sportsman.
