Hey I just want to say that you are an amazing engineer! I have seen a lot of rov designs on youtube and I am impressed by what you've created. Which motors did you use for propulsion that don't need to be sealed against water and corrosion?

Thanks for your comment! The motor that I used is those general RC drone motor. They are intrinsically waterproof since there is no mechanical contact in between the stator coil and the rotor magnet. Just need to waterproof the ESC and the solder joints. Using this motor in fresh water is ok but it will get rust in sea water.

Hi Im's, Right now I'm building an ROV for an underwater search project off the coast of Turkey at a depth of 100 meters. I think I'll be operating in a 2 knot current and I'm debating on the best motor choice. It will be brush less and sensor less but the question is kv? I'm thinking I'll try around 1000 kv to try and avoid over spinning the props and cavitating. Do you have any opinions on this. By the way excellent work thanks. Greg
