The way Don Santiago always released the ball from the extreme left end of the lane always made him look like he would either slide out of the picture of crash into the ball return.
Whoever does these videos thanks brings up a lot of great memories. I bowled with and against Donny in late 80s , the best bowler I ever bowled with. His stance was definitely unorthodox. There use to be a 3 man scratch money league in Orleans in late 80s 5 strings roll off style. Donny was a friend of my partners and I knew him. He substituted for one of my partners who averaged a 117. When Donny walked through the door with us the entire alley turned around thinking what the hell is he doing here? He bowled a 650, and it was beautiful to watch.
Great upload! & great last string Don! R.I.P Tom Morgan & Don Gillis

It's interesting to analyze Don's commentary after doing this show for so long. Specifically, what he includes and what he doesn't. Example: he uses the phrase "our defending champion" and "our challenger" repeatedly during all three games, when, to anyone who watched the show back then, it was quite obvious who the champion and challenger were each week. It probably appealed to his mainstream sports sensibilities. In contrast, he rarely mentions who's in the lead or by how much during the first two strings. He of course does at the end of each and during the third. That would've certainly helped out the visually impaired just as much as describing the pinfall. Not criticizing, just observations after watching Don do this for 50+ years. Great upload as usual AC.
He was an excellent announcer, and he made this show great, but he was no expert in Candlepin bowling.
Wow Tom almost got The Hi Lo Jackpot. Good shot.
