To suggest that a person the Navy would, not only put into a $65 million aircraft, but send to Top Gun and make a squadron commander, would be so wrong about his own observations is laughable. These guys are EXPERT observers. That's their job. Their job isn't just to shoot at stuff. It's to be forward observers for troops. Estimating the sizes and nature of things is absolutely crucial. This guy is a graduate of Top Gun. You would have to really struggle to find a more competent and credible witness.
I have no doubt Mick West is good at debunking fake UFO stuff, of which I know there's a ton. But sometimes these guys get so locked into debunking, they're as bad as the guys who see UFOs everywhere.
Fraver is the reason I believe after being a skeptic for 50 years. Then watching The Phenomenon and hearing the guys from that Minuteman base where the launch officers, intelligence officers, and guards ALL saw craft scan the silos and disable 10 warheads. The Pentagon is not in the business of putting whackos into nuclear missile silos, let alone, a group of them in a single silo. These are all the most sober and serious people in the world. David Fravor has had IMDB page since he's appearance on a real world style show based on uss nimitz on pbs. He had to be a Public Relations Officer for his part in that show. He was the most senior pilot in the air wing at the time of the incident which means his flight hours are probably less then that of the other pilot s and he flys to maintain flight pay.

I trust Captain Fravor’s assessment of the TicTac’s approximate size. Why? I have some 13 years flying over-water experience, and even as a USCG Dolphin HH-65A helicopter pilot (where we never flew over 12,000’ - usually limited to 10,000’ & where most flew significantly lower’), naval & USCG aviators most certainly learn how to effectively use visual cues along with knowledge of visual illusions, so much so that we can use a mixture of that knowledge to ascertain certain information, like size-even in the absence of Known Image size. This is done with the knowledge of the sea state (height and size of ocean waves) and the reaction of water with the slightest nuance of surface winds. Water does not “scale” significantly to cause huge illusions, therefore sea-state can usually be used to compare or estimate the size of an unknown vessel or airplane (vs the estimated height above water vs the visual condition) over or on the ocean’s surface.
In other words, based on a combination of the above knowledge & physical conditions of the ocean, I trust Captain Fravor’s estimate of 40-feet.
I’d bet you any brand case of beer that Captain Fravor’s size estimate is within 1 or 2 feet of actual size.

I have to really question the intentions of a self proclaimed "Professional Debunker" like Mick West. Seriously, think about that for a minute. This essentially says, "Hey, I don't agree with this, and I've already made up my mind", which is a little problematic to me. Sure, he may bring up some possibilities on what this UAP could be with the hard quantitative data we have, and I appreciate and give him credit for that. But that is just ONE small piece of the big picture; We have multiple testimonies on this, not just Fravor, and other data that has not been released. I'm hoping that at one point, we get radar/sensor data so we can put this shit to rest. Until then, skeptics and non-skeptics alike can only speculate. If we ever get an answer on this, I hope that the side that gets proven wrong is able to accept the verdict.

    • @extratroppo437
      @extratroppo437 3 ปีที่แล้ว +15

He's a skeptic. His mind is most definitely not made up beforehand. He's simply working in probabilites. And if definitively proven wrong, he'd be the FIRST to acknowledge these are e.t., or whatever else a definitive answer would produce.
You also really have to question the intentions of ufo fanatics who want so badly for these things to be e.t. They are often extremely bias and not willing to admit possibility that these objects are mundane, non-extraordinary things. Skeptics, more often than not, are the ones that are truly open-minded. They're willing to admit the full range of possibility---weighted however, based on probability.

    • @Sampsonoff
      @Sampsonoff 2 ปีที่แล้ว +31

“Had a career in video games” is obviously meant derisively but it’s actually a good indication of how smart he must be. He cofounder and was instrumental in programming games (eg Tony Hawk Pro Skater series) which is an incredibly versatile skill. He job was literally creating virtual worlds using complex math and programming the physics into that world from the bottom up. Not only that, but he was incredibly aware about perspectival mathematical modelling which focuses on how complex sets of interacting data are displayed on the monitor for the player. You have to be super aware of all sorts of cognitive and optical illusions (eg occlusion, completion, parallax, etc) to make the games appear realistic to the player. And on top of all that; the process of debugging requires an incredibly patient, analytic mind to look at line after line of complex code and logically determine exactly where the errors are causing “objects” in the virtual world to fail while interacting. It’s complex stuff
He’s also a pilot and has published in a high impact, peer reviewed science journal on atmospheric effect caused by airplanes.
Does all of that mean he’s an expect on f-18s? No. Nor does he claim to be. But let’s not pretend he’s just some idiot who obviously should be ignored. He’s providing a great perspective and hypothesis to the debate which anyone who claims to care about truth should respect. That is, as long as the person isn’t too mindlessly tribal and emotionally invested in a particular position.

    • @MrHominid2U
      @MrHominid2U 2 ปีที่แล้ว +23

@@Sampsonoff The problem is his explanations are viable only if major components of instrument data are ignored and pilot observation is written off as simply wrong. A hypothesis has to cover all observations. And no I don't think programming computer games and piloting a mud hopper gives West any more credibility in these examples than anyone else. The U.S. Military as well as the militaries of other countries have looked at the same data and conclude something weird is going on. I guess they're all just not as smart as ol' Mick West.

Fravor doesn't answer the explanation for the gimbal rotation being caused by flare and the rotation of the lens. He doesn't answer the question, he just says "there were other objects".
What we really want to know is if the rotation seen was the object rotating or simply flare on the lens rotating.

No, the pilots didn't see it rotating. They saw the image in the Mutlti Function Display, generated by the ATFLIR Pod rotating. They didn't see the object itself rotating.
If you look at the gimble video the entire image jerks in synchrony with the rotation, clearly demonstrating it's the ATFLIR Pods de-rotation mechanism causing the heat glare alone to rotate.
As a retired pro photographer I have seen this effect many times.

My friend. It's pretty much definitively being confirmed it didn't rotate... look at the cloud line, it jerks in synchrony with the rotation. When enlarged, features within the image do too. There's very little doubt that it was glare rotating with the ATFLIR pods de-rotation mechanism. As a former pro photographer, I've seen glare rotate this way before. You can demonstrate this with your own cell phone by making the lens greasy, pointing it at a bright light to introduce glare and then rotating your phone.
The weapons system operator or the pilot, one of them, in the aircraft, in the video was the only person there to say it was rotating. I don't think it would be a common phenomenon.
As for what the object was that was generating so much glare, we don't know.
Mick West looked at the information available on the pod and demonstrated this with a model. Check out his video.

What’s the big deal and surprise that we have visitors here, why all the doubt? The limitations in the speed of light and the impossibility of anyone ever coming here because of the huge distances in space. Still these objects seem to defy physics as we know it in just the right way for them to overcome these exact limitations, right angle turns, 600G forces, popping in and out of existence, instant acceleration, and mind blowing speeds, all of it just scream consistency with an Alcubierre drive. Can’t imagine an old lady from some remote countryside back in the days dreaming up a fantasy that is so consistent with an Alcubierre drive and how such a vehicle would uniquely behave. What more could you possibly need than this including radar and other tech and highly trained pilot witnesses seeing these objects on a daily basis. They’ve hacked it and are here, and no it’s not any other country that have had this tech and kept quiet for at least 80 years, didn’t use it in WWII to win when pilots saw Foo fighters, and not used it as the huge deterrent it is for political or power reasons which is completely inconsistent with human nature. Science is childish refusing to take this more seriously, and if they would ever release more detailed material that of course exists, 4K footage and high-res images and tech data, I’m sure scientists will fall over each other to claim they aways knew we’ve had visitors. Any political trick would have to go back many decades if not centuries across most countries in the world, without any clear political benefit to anyone, especially if you come out and say it’s not ours, and there are easier ways to get funding I’m sure if that’s claimed as a motivation.

Colonel Robert Willingham, USAF from an affidavit in the 1970’s when discussing a sighting of a UFO whilst he was navigating an F94 jet on September 6th 1950.
“A saucer flew right over (us), put down three landing gears, and landed out on the dry lakebed. (The cameramen) went out there with their cameras toward the UFO…. I had chance to hold (the film) up to the window. Good close-up shots. There was no doubt in my mind that it was made someplace other than on this earth.”
Colonel Gordon Cooper, Mercury and Gemini Astronaut describing an incident he witnessed during the 1960’s during a videotaped interview for the Disclosure
    Program.
“The UFO was bouncing around the 747. (It) was a huge ball with lights
running around it… Well, I’ve been involved in a lot of cover-ups with the FAA. When we gave the presentation to the Reagan staff, they had all those people swear that this never happened. But they never had me swear it never happened. I can tell you what I’ve seen with my own eyes. I’ve got a videotape. I’ve got the voice tape. I’ve got the reports that were filed that will confirm what I’ve been telling you.”
John Callaghan, FAA Chief of Accidents and Investigations during a videotaped interview for the Disclosure program.
“I have frequently been asked why a person of my background-a former Chief of the Defence Staff, a former Chairman of the NATO Military Committee-why I think there is a cover-up (of) the facts about UFOs. I believe governments fear that if they did disclose those facts, people would panic. I don’t believe that at all. There is a serious possibility that we are being visited by people from outer space. It behoves us to find out who they are, where they come from, and what they want.”
Admiral Lord Hill-Norton, British Royal Navy, former Chief of Defence during a videotaped interview for the Disclosure program.
The security guard called and said, “Sir, there’s a glowing red object
hovering right outside the front gate. I’ve got all the men out here with
their weapons drawn.” We lost between 16-18 ICBMs (nuclear tipped Inter Continental Ballistic Missiles) at the same time UFOs were in the area… (A high ranking Air Force officer) said, “Stop the investigation; do no more on this and do not write a final report. I heard that many of the guards that reported the incident were sent off to Vietnam.”
Captain Robert Salas, USAF, during a videotaped interview for the Disclosure program.
“It was the darndest thing I’ve ever seen. It was big, it was very bright, it changed colours, and it was about the size of the moon. We watched it for ten minutes, but none of us could figure out what it was. One thing’s for sure: I’ll never make fun of people who say they’ve seen unidentified flying objects in the sky.”
Former President of the United States, Jimmy Carter following his sighting along with many others of a UFO at Leary, Georgia in October 1969.
“The phenomenon of UFOs is real. I know that there are scientific organisations which study the problem.”
Former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev on 26th April 1990.
“This is the first sighting in Zimbabwe where airborne pilots have tried to intercept a UFO. As far as my Air Staff is concerned, we believe implicitly that the unexplained UFOs are from civilizations beyond our planet.”
Air Commodore David Thorne, Director of General Operations for the Zimbabwe Air Force in 1985.
“The Air Force has arrived at the conclusion that a certain number of anomalous phenomena has been produced in Belgian airspace. The numerous testimonies of ground observations….reinforced by the reports of the night March 30-31 (1990) have led us to face the hypothesis that a certain number of unauthorised aerial activities have taken place.
The day will undoubtedly come when the phenomenon will be observed with the technological means of detection and collection that won’t leave a single doubt about its origin. This should lift a part of the veil that has covered the mystery for a long time; a mystery that continues to be present. But it exists, it is real, and that in itself is an important conclusion.”
Colonel Wilfred De Brouwer, Chief of Operations for the Belgian Air Force in 1990 following a spate of sightings over the country witnessed by hundreds of people. Many of the sightings were confirmed on radar.
“It is impossible for any man-made machine to make a sudden appearance in front of a jumbo jet that is flying 910 kilometers per hour and to remain in steady formation paralleling our aircraft. … Honestly, we were simply breathtaken.”
Kenju Terauchi Japan Airlines pilot in 1986.
Before we could do anymore, the army, after conferring with (US) officials, ordered the investigation stopped.”
Dr Paul Santorini regarding UFOs seen over Greece in 1946.
“Maximum security exists concerning the subject of UFOs.”
    CIA Director, Allen Dulles, 1955.
“I have discussed this matter with the effected agencies of the government, and they are of the opinion that is it not wise to publicize this matter at this time.”
Senator Richard Russell, head of the Armed Services Committee, following his sighting of a UFO during an official trip to the Soviet Union in 1955.
“Reliable reports indicate there are objects coming into our atmosphere at very high speeds and controlled by thinking intelligences.”
Navy Admiral Delmar Fahrney in a public statement during 1957.
“Congressional investigations…are still being held on the problem of unidentified flying objects and the problem is one in which there is quite a bit of interest… Since most of the material presented to the committee is classified, the hearings are never printed.”
    Congressman William H Ayres 1958.”
Given that this subject is a true to life observed event and isn’t really a scientific occurrence as the phenomena cannot be observed under a controlled setting, it makes you wonder why these testimonial disclosures have been ignored for so long with the broad brush assumption that everyone of these people are lying, crazy or making up false tales.
2004 Mexican gun camera footage of 12 ufos observed by several jet fighters
In 1970 The Colorado Airforce Acadamy included in a training book for pilots a chapter 33 about space science and UFOs, where it concluded that Earth could have been visited by alien controlled space crafts during the last 50.000 years! It also questioned the notion that our physics are correct and complete - especially E=mc2, since at that time 50.000 reliable UFO observations defied our physics..

Wondering why I haven't seen this star before at that location. After minutes of trying to comprehend that Yellow dot made rapid, quick changing movements. Standing still at one moment, next moment it was moving a different direction. The movement, acceleration was smooth but rapid. Thought to myself it had to be my mind doing weird stuff to me. Next night is hasnt been there. And it wasnt a light from a club of something. We had no clouds present on that day

I played guitar for 30 years before it happened and I still am a but depressed about it (12 years ago the accident happened at a print shop) anyway.. there are a couple of songs that randy rhoads played on the "blizzard of ozz" album (of ozzy osbourne and randy rhoads) that I think you would like and find the style rhoads uses to be scientifically intriguing, as he uses a lot of theory and formula built into his music and solos. The songs are very fun to play and really gives one an appreciation of how rhoads expressed himself musically. "Goodbye to romance" is a wonderful little song with an moderately difficult solo near the beginning that I am sure you could hit, and well, its just a lot of fun play anywayi... revelation mother earth is a bit more complicated but Lex, I sure would love to see you play some rhoads. also, the first classical complete song I learned was "dee" by randy rhoads. that is also another very beautiful piece that he wrote for his mother. I have seen a lot of his videos. Even if you imagine that there is a financial incentive, that has nothing to do with the points raised.
Take the Gimbal, for example. The type of Gimbal Fravor is talking about in this clip is incompatible with the manufacturer details on the Gimbal used on this aircraft. The Gimbal it does use, does in fact have to rotate at the degrees recorded to keep track. This is consistent with the rotating seen in the footage. This is not to conclude the matter.
