You're welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Gold Butte is very cool. Red rock sandstone meets the Mojave. This canyon was really unique and the petroglyphs were an unexpected bonus. There area a lot more in the area too. It's a fantastic place to explore! Thanks for watching. ~ Mike
We were fortunate to have a nice sunny day for this hike. This area is spectacular. The weather in Southern Nevada and California was less than ideal during this trip. Lost of storms, high winds and cold temps for the Mojave. But we'd have nice sunny days in between. Thanks for watching! ~ Mike
Very nice video guys, especially important to people like me who cannot hike into those areas because of disabilities and yet we get to see the beauty when you post these kinds of videos. Thank you so much!
That's good to hear. I'm glad that these videos make a difference in your life. I have several older family members that can't go out into these places anymore so I bring it to them and anyone else that wants to go on an adventure. Thanks for watching, judef.2876. ~ Mike
Great video! We have similar landscapes in the badlands in southeast Alberta, where uneven erosion of sandstone and limestone over time caused very odd looking rock formations. Hiking through that area always feels a bit like walking through an old Flintstones cartoon to me. And I love how the canyon starting at around the 8:00 mark in your video looks kind of like a cave, but is well-lit with sunlight from above. Eerily beautiful!
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. This area is really beautiful. This canyon has been on my list for quite some time. It's not very long, but really nice inside and the light during that time of the day really made for some interesting filming and photography. I was surprised to find the petroglyphs at the back of the canyon. It was a nice bonus. There are some other really nice rock art panels in these rock formations too. The next time in headed up to Alaska, I'm going to go through Alberta and check out some of these badlands you're talking about. They look really nice. Thanks for watching! Mike
Thanks! This is a spectacular place to explore and I'd highly recommend it. All of the music I use in my videos has been composed, usually on the fly, by me. That particular piece (I think I re-named it Keyhole #2 for the video) was something that I'd put together several years ago and I came across it while looking through rough drafts and old composition files, and it fit perfectly! I have quite a few ambient compositions and have been considering releasing them. I'll make sure to let you know if I do. Thanks for watching! ~ Mike
Excellent video! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching! I'm glad you liked it. Gold Butte National Monument is one of my favorites! I highly recommend it. ~ Mike
Awesome visuals and geologic background information. Thanks!

Great video Mike! I really enjoyed meeting up with you out here and exploring Gold Butte
Thanks! That was a fun adventure for sure. We'll have to go another adventure sometime soon.
