I remember this game I rented it had one of those reprinted covers so it looked really lame but I played most RPG's already. Never heard of it though it be somewhat lame but this game was great. I actually got to my 3 days knew I wanted it way longer went out and bought it and returned the rental copy. For some reason the save didn't work so I kept the scratched-up rental copy but oh well it worked.
I have been playing this game for around 12 hours, and I will drop it because of how repetitive it is. The battles are soooooo slow paced, and that in understandable for a ps2 era game, but for today's standards it just consumes unnecessary time.
I remember renting this from blockbuster video. Needless to say that there was a crazy late fee cuz I kept for like 3 weeks. The story, the graphics, the game play...I absolutely loved this game. It put a new twist on strategy tactic games. Went from block spaces to fluid areas to move and attack.
Just like you I randomly came across this game with my grandma and got it right after finally beating FFX lol what a surprise this game's story was and how you could play both characters and feel compelled to want both to reach their goals. I played this for days
I'm around 5 hours into my first ever playthrough in 2024! This game has a similar feel to Gladius - a good thing IMO. Loses marks for very hit & miss music which cannot be disabled, and unskippable cutscenes, but that's all. Everything else is pretty cute, and fun.
It was pretty dumbed down in a lot of places but the point of the story was extremely impactful. A massive statement about divide-and-conquer, manipulation and corruption. I rented this back in the day and couldn't finish the final boss and gave up. Finally beat it last night and I think the game is a must play for RPG fans. It's almost as memorable as the Super Nintendo final fantasies for me!
This game is part of my childhood. The gameplay and story is top notch. Now that i look back on it, it's more of an anime. I still have the complete disc. Memories
Limits of the spirit stone system are far over stated. Almost every enemy will drop stones. It forces you to budget for a single battle and think more tactically. The spells and skills are usually powerful enough that it balances out imo. I got through the game just fine and I didn't need to save spells and skills for bosses.
let my brother in law borrow this years ago. He isnt a gamer and my sister was mad at me because its all he cared about for a good month lol. Great game! Underrated.
What a shame the sequel wasn't a true game, I wish they would of had made a good one. The game itself was a very good game that ends in a very satisfying ending conclusion as a whole. Anyone figure that you can use unlimited mana by equip the "half-man use" item from the tournament prize. You can get 1 per tournament win, every single time. So you just equipped all 3 slot with it and your can use ability at 0 cost. Spam ultimate and final boss was too easy and not very fun though.
@@sud6646lol me too. Didn't have a problem with any other enemies but the last boss kicked ass. I still didn't beat him. I just looked up the fight and the end on TH-cam after several desperate tries
I remember! this game was balls! it was so trash that I couldn't get through the first part of the game! there was some kind of gate that I couldn't get through. I was 6 and it came off as boring, maybe I'm talking about the wrong game but I remember that box art.
Literally my favorite game of all time. I think it has one of the best battle systems ever.
Really
Yes
play shining force

My absolute favorite console game.
I REALLY like this game lol
EDIT: Btw its KhaRG not Khrag and BEBEdora not BeDEdora lmao
My absolute favorite game, I always use Darc for my usernames in games.
Easily my favorite rpg, and probably console game too
I second the opinion of the music being good.
16 years later and I still listen to "ordeal" and "natural selection" during my gym workouts.
The first game I got when I bought my PS2 years ago and the first RPG game I ever played.
Literally?

AND ITS WELL WORTH THE MONEY I THINK. IVE HAD MY GAME A WHILE AND I PLAY IT EVERY SO OFTEN. I DO THAT WITH ALL MY FAVOURITE JRPG GAMES.

This is the best in this series 👍🏻👏🏻❤️
Welp, that's another RPG that'll be going in my Must Have list.
Just picked it up from a local shop for 10 bucks in great condition. It was a blind buy, and im glad I made a good decision.
Easy platinum trophy as well, you can get platinum in 1 run, but there is a few missable trophies.
RetroPokeFan I played it when it came out and enjoyed it.

Thank for the recommendation of arc the lad series am having fun
The battle system for this looks similar to, but more accessible than the battle system in breath of fire 6. I might check it out since it’s on psNow.

This game and External darkness were both great games.
I did so many gladiator battles that Darc carried me the rest of the game.
This is actually a pretty good game. Of course the voice acting sucks, that's part of the charm.
thats some top tier pronunciation
"Krog, I wont let you down."
I bought this game today...so I search youtube to find out what kind of game this is...so now I am here and learning. ˆˆ
This game is the best! I loved the battle system, and the switch between the stories!
Such a fun game, a true classic
Loved Bebedora in this game although second playthrough makes her broken with infinite mp item

The fact you were six I doubt you would have enjoyed a story that allows you to choose between two brothers and teams
Maybe 6 year old you was noob lol

@@magee_gameplay yeah THIS game was dope
