I’m guessing that they have native English speakers in their studio as anchors but have native German speakers who speak English pretty fluently as correspondents in the field so they can do double duty for the main German channel of DW and then also DW English. I really appreciated DW English because when I lived in Germany I could understand it and know what news stories were important to Germans. I understood my neighbors better. Also DW news covers world news better than even cable news networks like CNN or MSNBC or Fox because those networks get focused on America only news stories. I still watch DW English and France news and Canada News and Nippon news and Australian news and BBC because as a collective it is more accurate about the world even if they miss nuance about America.
