2:55 has this lady ever touched a PC before??? A fractions of gamers replace their graphics cards that often. ESPECIALLY with how ridiculously expensive they’ve gotten. Newer games are more demanding, yes, but obviously they’ll still run well on older hardware if you don’t crank their graphics settings to the peak.
I counter point not mentioned in this video is that people are increasingly playing older games for longer. People are still paying Skyrim and World of Warcraft and a bazillon other games that came out originally in the 2000s and early 2010s. I think after a certain point there are diminishing returns to 3D graphics. Given people have only a finite amount of time, and populations in developed markets aren't growing much anymore, one would expect this trend to increasing eat in to demand for next-gen games and new game sales.
You're just getting older and letting your confirmation bias cloud your judgement. The next generation of kids are all playing newer games, they're playing roblox, fortnite, and Genshin Impact. And that's ignoring the millions of smaller phone games that they also play on the daily.

Nvidia cards are well known as the best cards for gaming, where competitors like AMD shine is for VRAM which is more important for commercial/industrial use cases.
Nvidia is a major tech company with a market capitalization that has surpassed $1-4 trillion, making it one of the most valuable companies globally. The U.S. government and other institutions may invest significantly in Nvidia, but this doesn’t imply direct ownership or control over the company’s finances. Nvidia’s cutting-edge technology is often restricted from sale to certain countries due to security concerns, with the most advanced technologies being reserved for specialized applications. For the public, Nvidia provides high-performance GPUs like the RTX 4090, though the very latest technologies are typically not available for general consumer purchase. Bet CIA, NSA, Department of Defense have super super super advance graphics cards.
lol what are you on ?????? The department of defense uses the same cards as everyone else. In most cases even less sophisticated cards that have been modified for security purposes. They certainly dont use the latest gpu on the market because they will not use technology that is untested thoroughly and can be compromised !
7:53 I was just thinking about how the early 2000s we had those Nokia phones and didn't use texting and I thought it would be so cool if it could do email and things which Smart phones can do today. I guess now is like the early 2000s but with AI instead of phones.
Nvidia founder sold his stock before announcement of August earnings and made a killing. It is also possible that sales are artificially boosted by insiders of the company .
It’s not just about the hardware that’s driving machine learning, it’s the software tools developed by Nvidia and all the open source software that supports it. Nvidia cornered the market but building Cuda, and with so much machine learning reliant on and written for Cuda, no one has a hope of catching up. AMD could come out with the best hardware tomorrow, but being unable to utilise Cuda, it’ll never take off. Now, if they could just write a reliable Linux driver….. 😂
its simply win after a win for these technology simply put it started with graphics, games, crypto, ai, robots i guess what they said is true they built the foundry
Huang went from making Xboxes to weird-looking cards with robot faces, and also he became grey. Thanks for the self-explanatory thumbnail that encompasses the essence of the video.
Huh? It sold well over 20M units. And it wasn’t a failure, it just didn’t sell (anywhere near) as many as the PS2, but it gave them the platform that lead to the 360 which was a success.
In my unprofessional opinion this is a bubble. AI not only hasn't been successfully monetized yet - it also is facing enormous legal hurdles which will escalate dramatically if it ever is monetized - and that's because these LLMs are built off of often completely stolen content including for example this very video. Other companies are getting sick of paying Nvidia for the chips and are starting to try to get in the game themselves. They're so overvalued that their stock fell 8% after announcing it's second quarter earnings despite beating projections by what any would be a lot for any other company. The fact that this puff piece got released AFTER that happened makes it feel like cope to me. I wonder how much Bloomberg himself has in Nvidia.
