I live on El Camino Real here in Las Cruces, New Mexico. It's the actual Camino that leads to Fort Selden.

Actually Santa Fe is 1,200 miles from Mexico City(1,400 miles driving).
Santa Fe is 1,600 miles from Washington D.C(1,800 miles driving). Which is 400 miles further than Mexico City.

El Camino Real de Tierra adentro can be translated to Inland Royal Road, I think.

You've got it wrong, the main Camino Real did split in two, one went to Guanajuato and the other continued to Zacatecas, via San Felipe, Ojuelos, etc.

There are several places "the Camino Real" branched out. We have it right, so do you.
