The bugs in the great works makes me think they were an after thought, as building them is very expensive and the CK2's focus really isn't on building an empires holdings up. Great works are kind of like a trophy, you can do it, but they aren't going to make a huge difference to the game. Very unfortunate that the retinue bonus doesn't work on the Royal Palace. Although I have to admit that 20% more retinue points is kind of really broken for big empires. Not nearly as broken as tribal retinues though.
It's a shame that Zoroastrians can't build religious great works. During my Saoshyant run, I would have loved to build a Great Temple in Yazd, since that's where the Zoroastrian Great Temple is actually located but that's unfortunately unavailable.
@@Qurasia why would they want the giant temple to odin built over the rubble of mecca and the kabba? It is only symbolic to show my superiority compared to the inferior faiths who's gods let their holy land get conquered and desecrated
@@ImrikGames On Steam it should automatically update unless you've gone into properties and set it to another version in the betas tab. I wouldn't know on other platforms as I only have CK2 on steam.

The patch notes said they fixed the palace retinues and statue plating at least! I haven't actually checked if they did, but I assume they have :)

It really does feel strange that almost everyone gets to make a religious great work, but there are a few that just.. can't.
I always build great temples in mecca, medina, Jerusalem and other enemy holy sites I can't remember just to spite them

Great Works were a part of patch 3.1 As long as you are playing on that version or a more recent one you should have them.
