One of the best horror movies of all time
I’ve still never seen any of them.
Try to watch them with friends they are a blast except the remake that one is gross if you know you know

Gap in education 😜
This is my favourite horror movie of all-time ❤️💚
you know it’s based on Indonesian folklore! There was a period when young Indonesian men were dying in their sleep inexplicably! That’s where Wes Craven got the idea.
*They don't make them like this anymore... Still one of the very best of the horror genre 40 years later*
You’re missing out on great horror movies with your bias
I agree, original too.
@@Andy-bh8hw Provide a list then......

The trailer looks 1000x better than all the horror movies since the past decade.
true. in my child years i was so scared to go sleep. so many nightmares. watching under my bed if freddy was there;-)

Precisely 👌
It'd be cool to have the whole Nightmare franchise on 4 k.
HD makes it so much more creepier and I’m here for it 🙌🏼😍
This movie and things surrounding it are incredibly nostalgic for me. Horror was just such a big thing in the 80s - whether you wanted it or not.
I always remember Freddy having stripes on his sleeves too. Crazy
They added stripes on his sleeves in all the sequels.
One of my favorite horror movies of all time, now in 4K...I must be dreaming
One of the absolute greatest horror movies ever!
Can’t wait to see Johnny depps death in glorious 4K
An absolute classic! I can’t wait to get my hands on the 4K.
If anybody at Warner Bros is looking at the comments, we want an elm street boxset! 👀
I didn't know this was being done but I'm here for it. I ain't watched these films in years so I think this new version of the classic first one is gonna be the perfect time for a revisit 👌🏾
Awesome, now we just need the rest of the films on 4k.
I remember my uncle showing me this at 7 years old
He said it was his favorite movie as a kid needless to say I could not sleep properly for a while because of this
R.I.P. Wes Craven ❤❤❤
this movie was blowing up the world growing up in the 80's, every scene and people in this flick just feel like everyday people and not plastic actors of these days. Watched again last night since watching it a million times back in the day, 8.5 out of 10 for every single minute of this movie
This franchise made me a HORROR fan as a teen!!
Now we just need the rest in 4k minus the reboot
Still love these movies to this day always gonna be a timeless classic 😂
I remember seeing this at the dollar cinema back in 84. What a great time to be alive.
Remember racing to change the channel, when the commercial came on!
My favorite movie of all time. It was, is still, and forever will be one of the bloodiest, goriest and most suspenseful movies of all time. That's exactly the reason why I ordered both a T-shirt and the original remastered DVD on eBay just a few days ago.
I issued a verbal warning to our 10 year young daughter just a few days ago: Hunnybunnybee, anyone who has never seen this film like I first saw it when I was but 10 years young (many years ago, and ironically enough) will never be prepared to get some of the phantasmagoria out of one's mind.
This IS my favorite film of all time. It is that legendary.
1:25 Nancy Thompson: The OG Kevin McCallister!
I seriously doubt you'll ever find anything like this ever again. These are the greatest horror flicks ever.
Please Robert give us one more!!! I know you said your too old but it can work with the right story!!! We need an official passing of the torch or final ending for our beloved dream demon!!!
My cousin showed this to me on pirate copy in '85. I was 6 years old. I love horror so much. Thank u man!
I can still go back and watch this and actually enjoy it. Horror movies these days don’t hit the same. I’m defiantly buying this in 4K 😂
Facts 💯✊👌🏼🫡
Would love to get the entire series in a 4K collector’s edition boxset!! Seems I’m not alone in that, judging from all the other comments in here asking for the same thing! Take note, WB!! 😁👍
Watched this when i was 12, it changed how i sleep till now. Masterpeice of a horror movie
WOOOOO! Finally! been waiting for years for a 4k release of this movie
Nothing beats the classics. No matter how fancy these new films look and how spooky the writing can be they don’t hold a candle to the past
40 years on and the original Elm Street holds up Craven somehow made it feel timeless and old style classic at the same time, the man was a genius and I hope he knew it.
To me the first three movies are golden, New Nightmare is brilliant, Freddy vs Jason is fun, and I even like the 2010 movie unlike everyone else. These are the films I own and on DVD, 4k is tempting however. To see this super new a crisp would be amazing
Can’t wait to get my ultimate collectors edition. The 4K looks wicked.
I watched this when I was 4, and no I am not traumatized, I am a fan of horror!!
My favourite horror movie series of the 80s. Funny that even as a little kid back in the 80s when this film came out, I was not in the least scared despite it being a horror movie
I was a little scared the first time but just quickly fell in love with it. I was 11, now I'm almost 50 lol.
What? Seriously?
ONE OF THE GREATEST HORROR FILMS OF ALL TIME 💯👏💪
It was the first film that innovated ideas without CGI and changed the horror genre forever!
Nowadays, it's just petty jump scares barely any story.
Didn't use the Charles Bernstein musical score for this? It's iconic
Yeah, a bit blasphemous
Ikr? As long as it’s on the actual disc I’ll let this slide.
Greatest horror villain of all time.
Yes he is
The nightmare on elm Street the first one is the best out of all of them🎉🎉
Nothing beats a classic!
feels so weird seeing it in such crisp visuals
These are the oy remakes I wanna see. Redone in 4K quality. Love this movie!
Nothing captures the feeling of being a kid in the 90s and watching these movies on cable TVs. It was traumatic.
Dear Warner, release the rest on 4K. Also, start more Freddy movies. Maybe Make Freddy CGI and use Robert Englund’s voice. I would continue the Alice storyline. But we don’t need a remake or a prequel. Just continue!
No CGI. Practical effects ONLY! That's where creation and brilliance collide. CGI is lazy and unrealistic.
@@stevensckeyes well Robert Englund is not getting any younger which is why I mentioned CGI. I don’t think anyone can replace his role.
I preordered this 4k version and cannot wait to get it!
Same!
Going to look prestine🤘🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Absolutely terrifying!! Definitely more scary than The Exorcist 😮😮
Awesome! Now we’re going to need the rest of the Nightmare films on 4k. Just let Scream Factory do an epic box set.
Greatest franchise ever ❤
such a classic...one of the greatest horror movies
It'd be nice to think that this release could be a precursor for a PROPER remake of Nightmare On Elm Street...
Is this a new trailer? It's just like all new ones, giving away the whole plot, ALL jumpscares and ALL remarkable scenes.
It's the trailer for the new, uncut (!) remaster and is clearly aimed fans;
I can in fact spot well-known censored cuts in here, which is a selling point.
In case anyone is wondering, this 4k is the uncut version, with the extra shots of Tina getting slashed and blood splatter when she hits the bed, plus extra shots of the Johnny Depp blood geyser.
I think it has both the theatrical and uncut version.
@@busuncle2006
👍
One of my favorite films of Wes Craven's for the 1984 version of A Nightmare on Elm Street. The first five original Nightmare on Elm Street film series with Robert Englund is definitely my favorite of that franchise. Also, I wish that Nightmare on Elm Street 2-5 should come out on 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray in the near future for part of the movie franchise.
The last few Freddie movies turned into comedies but the early ones were 🔥
freddy was more scary at the beginning here, like a monster. later as the series went on, he became a spiderman/deadpool type of comedian
Fall is not my favorite season but the excitement of these trailers coming up
I love the Fall. Get out of here, Summer! Tooo hot 🥵.
@@trustnoone3007 enjoy your 7 months of being a popsicle 🤣
@@TheLowEndTheory I rebuke your post….lol
Nothing or no one terrified me through out my childhood more than Freddie.
I don't know why, but I prefer the old trailers. Those VHSrip ones, with glitches, somewhat distorted sound and the narrator. I think they gave more suspense, tension and fear
it's to promote the 4k visuals.
@@ScaredStraightProductions Then why not release the trailer in 4K? I don't see any signs that the film has been touched up in any way and the video resolution is very poor. I have the opportunity to see this movie again in theaters and am still wondering if this format will deliver something new.
I'm no technophile, but what's the purpose of remastering a film when the original print already looked great on the big screen?
@@politefan8141it is though? You just have to change to 4k in settings as for some reason, still. TH-cam wont allow you to default to 4k video on tablets and phones.
@@politefan8141 If you're not aware, the point of 4k restorations is to provide a viewing experience as close as possible to the originally intended image at 4k resolution. It's not intended to look different other than being 'restored'. DVD and regular blu ray releases weren't able to provide this.
@@politefan8141Also, the trailer is in 4k. You probably watched it before TH-cam had finished processing it.
The laugh at the end is what I hear when I think of Freddy's laugh. Not the exaggerated laugh that came in the sequels. That sinister witch cackle is MY Freddy.
I hope we'll get a theatrical re-release to celebrate the movie's 40th anniversary...
Is it me or does Freddy look and sound like Creed from The Office. 0:14
He did
More like creed sounds like freedy
Looks and sounds like robert englund to me lol
Maybe they are both the real Scranton Strangler!
Imagine what a director like Robert Eggers could make with a reimagining on “A Nightmare On Elm Street” in his vision.
Wes Craven's A Nightmare on Elm Street is a seminal horror masterpiece that redefined the genre. By invading the sacred sanctuary of sleep, the film tapped into a primal fear that resonated deeply with audiences. Freddy Krueger, with his iconic appearance and sardonic wit, is a villain for the ages, a malevolent force that haunts the subconscious.
The film’s brilliance lies in its ability to blur the lines between reality and dream, creating a sense of unease and paranoia that lingers long after the credits roll. It's a psychological exploration of adolescent anxieties and fears, wrapped in a package of gore and suspense. While subsequent installments often diluted the original's potency, the first film remains a chilling and unforgettable cinematic experience that continues to inspire and terrify.
A Nightmare on Elm Street is not just a horror film; it's a cultural touchstone that has left an indelible mark on the genre and popular culture as a whole.
The cinematography of the trailer reminds me why I used to get excited about the movies. And I’m not even a horror fan.
NOW REMASTER THE REST OF THE SERIES! UNCUT!
Best trailer I’ve seen in years
Loved all the Freddy Krueger stuff growing up, even the short lived tv series
Scared the crud out of me as a kid! One of the best scary movies ever!
What is there to say, Nightmare on Elm Street and What Lies Beneath (2000), the greatest horror movies ever. At least for me.
That little song is a childhood memory
I'm the big fan of this saga. WB and New Line Cinema is the best 🎉
Aw baby Johnny. Love this movie his arms getting long always scared me
And to think no studio wanted to put out this movie and look where it is even 40 years later. I have every single one on DVD.
Robert Englund the best Freddy ever
Freddy got til 111 to haunt. Then after that, his nightmare begins without a ending!! LOL
freddy was a beast. They should do a reboot.
They cooked with this trailer!
This looks amazing I'm glad it's coming out but would been cool to include a low quality version . The low quality look makes it more scary but I'm still happy it's coming out in 4k !
Where is my 4K boxed set for the whole series?
Of all things that is Freddy, his burnt face, his hat or his knives glove - it's that sweater that I visualize the most.
