The biggest nightmare is trying to imagine 4 people coordinating themselves enough to pass this game.
Man why didn't they try this in the movie? Just get 4 girls to run up to Freddy and punch him until he's dead
They did try to team up on him in Dream Warriors, and he managed to divide them up into different sections of the dreamscape.

This run was amazing. Perfect House order and managed to get 3/5 boss skips. Incredible.

As someone who had to go through a ton of practice just to beat this game in one-player mode, it was extraordinary to see four people tackle it all at one time!
They should have just called it "Boo! Haunted House"

"Why do we have to go to a junkyard? Nintendo logic." Actually, it's because of the end of the 3rd movie where the characters find Freddy's remains (or his bones) in a junkyard and have to burn them there.

I also caught this run live last night and was highly amused! Even with the lag I was fairly impressed by the 4 player coop. I love Freddy but don't think I ever played this one as a kid

I feel like setting up the skip took more time than just fighting the bosses.
Magikarpador it did...the reason skip was done was to demonstrate the ability to do it
MikeStone1979 But they went for it everytime and this was a World Record.
Magikarpador they could take this time down by about 3 mins if they practiced...but the intention was never WR :)
We went for it to show off the glitch. No matter what our time was it was a record. :-) cause no one worse would be sane enough to do this lol
I was in the stream of one of the players, Cantaloupeme. He did actually mention it would have been faster, but at the time it was kinda too late to really go through with it.
It really isn't all that big of a deal, since it'd probably be hard to contest due to the 4 players needed while still performing well. Good luck to anyone who would try for it.

probobly why they put 205 bones in the game was because maybe the "next" game would have been searching for the final one.
The scene where Nancy jumps over the giant cartoon rat and punches the spider in the face is the best scene in Nightmare. This game is super-accurate to the source material!

The end-of-stage sound effects and score font got reused for Battletoads! The boombox music came from R.C. Pro-Am. And of course, massive human-sized IC chips exist in every good junkyard. Good old Rare.
So unlike in the movie, where the teens went their separate ways and got killed, the players here bunched up together and survived :D who would have thought.

LMFAO, that running animation when they are outside and running up into a house is fucking hilarious. Also I had no idea the NES had 4 player capabilities, Ive never seen a NES game played with 4 players.

You know, by my reckoning the setup for the boss skip, at least on the ghost, took longer (~ 37:13 - 37:30 = 17s) than the boss fight itself (~ 37:30 - 37:38 = 8s). I mean, I'm sure it's faster on average, but still just a funny thing to note

I'm no expert but it seems like setting up and trying to skip bosses at the end takes more time then killing them. But they most likely did it just to show people.
Yes it was a recent discovery, wanted to show many people they could. Boss skips saves a lot in single player.
