I just did this repair on my 1981 JD 310A backhoe, the parts look the same so I'd guess we both have the same loader. Thanks for posting this video!

I hesitated to rebuild the cylinders myself but after seeing your videos I’m going to go ahead and give it a try. Thanks so much for this video!!

Really good video. Thanks. Honestly, I may bring mine in. You have some mad skills I do NOT possess. Thanks for keeping me out of trouble!

Good show! Most videos show the newer JD cylinders which come apart differently. Thanks for posting.

i think i saw a video where you're supposed to heat up the new seals in oil so as to not damage them when assembling.

Great video and some really good information. The snap ring to remove the piston is interesting and will cause lots of problems if you did not know it was there

Yes I didn't know about the snap ring when I did the outrigger cylinders and it caused a LOT of headache before I figured it out lol.
      Thanks for watching

Doing same repair same machine , after replacing seals, rod assembly goes in almost all the way, stops about an inch short so I can’t put snap ring in , any ideas?

how do you look up parts for cylinders? Is it a JD thing or are there aftermarket parts you trust? Thanks man and great job with the rebuilding. I just bought an old JD410 and need to do lots of this work too.

John Deere wants a insane amount for these seals, I'm thinking I bought all the seals for every cylinder for the price JD wanted for 2 or 3 cylinder rebuild kits.
I ordered them from my local small hardware store, I don't know where he ordered from.
I highly recommend taking the cylinders in to a professional shop and have them rebuild them.
The cylinders I did still are not 100% and I'm not doing anymore myself.
Good luck on your new backhoe! 👍
