My o my,that was sweet,l can smell the the fragrance from the Amal carbs, and feel the buzz thru my loins, back to being in my 20s.I was immersed in this journey….Thanks
The sweet sound of a British vertical twin! The motorcycle equivalent sound of a Rolls-Royce Merlin! Also watching this video you can see first hand that Brit Bike handling!
me too, I have a 1967, total frame up restored Trophy that is a garage queen. I rode her like that too . Mounted a camera on my gas tank parcel rack. It was still a bumpy video, My clutch cable broke on the way home. At each stop sign I had to pop her into neutral and get a running start to pop into first gear without stalling. Made it home. Wow, that was some ride. Still have the ride on a DVD. Makes me want to go out and start her up. No legal plates or insurance or inspection now. I stopped riding cause too many near accidents from morons on phones. Ah, but the memories I have ! Thanks for this. The sound !!!!! Awesome !!!!!!
Nice to see a 650 Triumph being ridden properly 👍 I have a 74 T120V with Spitfire cams that I will NEVER part with, it was the last of the 650's and to me it represents the ultimate and final Bonneville.
Beautiful TR6 - best of the 650's. Beautiful country roads! Rough handling of throttle on this ride. ('wish there was no dangling, distracting, extra key at the ignition, chipping the fork paint too.)
Yes its correct , .... im Ride in the 80's a T140V -750er Bonnie oil in frame and Front disc Brake (lockhead) - never ever have a Chance to a 14 years older 650er Bonnie ....
I have owned a ‘67 and ‘68 Bonnie and a ‘70 Daytona, and must agree their styling was the best of the best of all Triumph’s of any year. But I also owned a ‘76 and ‘77 OIF Tigers and not only did they handle just as good but I will always prefer disc brakes, a 5 speed over a 4 speed and shifting on the left. I own several bikes and do not care to mix up shifting or braking with the older controls. Not sure why OIF models are so maligned as ‘75 and later were excellent bikes and that includes, handling, power and dependability. This era of Meridan Triumphs are 50 years old and plenty of crappy mechanics have left them with poor servicing and plenty of abuse so you need to pick well and bring them back to stock condition. Want to get your foot in the door cheaper than the outrageous prices ‘70 models bring? Post ‘75 models are your ticket to ride a great bike.
my 1967 Trophy sounds the same. Miss riding her. Too many morons on phones now. 3 close calls made her a garage queen along with my 1972 Norton Commando ! Its safer to ride my dirt bike now !
Great video. These bikes work well on back roads. I had two of these. Both ‘72 650 Tigers. One was a 5 speed and one was 4 speed. The 5 speed felt sportier and quicker. I had the 5spd Triumph when I was 17! Great bikes for the back roads like in the video. The reach for the indicator switch is awkward. What is in between the grip and the switch? The 5spd seemed a little quicker than this bike or it might need a tube. Good riding demonstrated here. The throttle modulation is excellent into the 4th gear fast last hander. The lift into the 2cnd gear left is pretty abrupt. My bike could get loose like that. I’m tempted now to get another one of these!
I Have a 1956 TOPHYBIRD as You guys Call them BUT I Have Not Got the NERVE in England To Ride it As Fast As That !!!OUR roads Are CRAP and OVERCROWDED 😔Great Vidio g
I bought a fully restored '70 TR6R two years ago for $9,000, same spring gold color as the one in this video. It's a gorgeous bike, brand new wiring harness from England, tank and fender paint from Hutchinson, powder coated black parts, triple chrome plating, etc. I think that's very reasonable, especially compared to the price of vintage cars.
Wonderful video. I rode a '73 oif TR6 when I was living in Germany in the early 80s, this video took me right back. Can you tell me how you recordeed the video and inparticular the sound? It's excellent especially the lack of wind noise on the microphone.
@@blancorhinomotorcyles8736 79 Bonnie Mine runs just as good, but it doesn't ride as good. I need a suspension rebuild all the way around and new tires.
Throw in some specs/details for your recording equipments specific to this video, wind noise didn't hurt the ears, pleasent to watch, less shake and good video quality
You are right. The first owner did a roadtrip from London, where he has bought this bike, to Rome, because he is an Italian guy, in 1972. On this trip he got out of gas and he had to hitchhike to the next fuel station. After that the original smiths had been stolen. One year later, back in London he bought these smiths. They are exactly the same model, except the looking of the face.
Im Ride a 68'er Bonnie , 69'er Norton Commando - rigid Chop. and a 91'er Sportster ... I love all my Ladys but my number one Bike is my 650er Triumph...
@@blancorhinomotorcyles8736 I just picked up a duplicate '70 Tiger 650 yesterday. Really a good looking motorcycle, local man did a great restoration! Not going to sell my '67 Tiger Daytona, they have to take turns. 2018 Bonneville is my regular rider but it's a lot more enjoyable riding the old ones.
I’ve got a 72 that I picked up cheap several years ago. Had it running but of course it’s not charging and needs some minor engine work. One of these days......
I owned a bonnieville T140 77 owned it for 20 years I was second owner never leaked oil the motor never been butchered with screw drivers between the cases
You can’t beat the sound of a old classic Triumph, Music to my ears. 🇬🇧👍
Mate that was bloody awesome, i had forgotten just how well a 650 Triumph gets up and goes. thanks mate
I have just totally refurbished a 1970 Triumph TR6R....A total symphony of sound...
Symphony of sound!, love your choice of words!
I have owned a 1970 650 tiger since 1980 43 years of enjoyable riding. I also went thru 3
Hardly Ablesons that were all troublesome
Never again
Hardly Ablesons 😂 👍
My father recently gifted me a 1969 TR6R, and I honestly enjoy it more than my previous two motorcycles. A 1997 CB750 and a 2008 GSXR.

Great Bike and great sound! I have a boneville 67, I love it!!
Good to see a proper mild thrashing! Torque and horsepower are well balanced here.
No horses spared! Great run. Bike sounds fantastic. 👍
Wonderful sound and visually very pleasant ,going out for a quick spin it took me back 50 years Thank you , nice bike also.
Nice job on capturing the sound. My first bike was a 1969 Tiger TR6P. The "P" was the police model.
1970 was the finest year for Triumph 650 twins.
The sweet sound of a British vertical twin! The motorcycle equivalent sound of a Rolls-Royce Merlin! Also watching this video you can see first hand that Brit Bike handling!

Do it friend, your a long time dead. All the best.
$1400.00 at the Virginia Beach shop 1970.
I like the Norton clocks on a Triumph - best of both worlds!
Great sounding bike! It's inspiring me to finish my 71 Tiger.
This is what happiness looks like!
Gorgeous sound
He should have wound it up a bit more in 3rd.

Ahh Spitfire cams, that must give you some extra oomph.
I had a 69 TR6 Tiger. The best bike Triumph made.
....well THAT helped me decide to KEEP my old 70 tiger i have stored in the garage!...
What a stirring "thrum" that Triumph makes when you crack the whip..!
X-tra key attached to ignition switch is killing the paint on the fork ear !
What a bike... Gorgeous
Great video 😊👍

We have to hope that these videos capturing that marvelous sound will still be around when only electric vehicles are allowed.
I refuse to live in a world like that.
These triumphs were nice handling up to 1970 these handle much nicer than oil in frame

Great 🥰
We’re these a one carb 650?
Yes. It is the one carb model. Called Tiger or Trophy Sports. It has little bit more of torque and little bit less of power than the bonnie. 😉
Yes, same engine but one carb. I love mine 1967 Frame up resto. Electronic ignition, no points !
Mmm... Delight :)
Sure sounds great! But how is he riding on the right side of the road? Isn't this shot in England?
can not be england. They drive opposite sides
