Channa is on the job, buying inexpensive blu-ray players just to try out digital file playback of the Spatial Audio Calibration Toolkit. He found a couple that work, links above! While we wait for the discs to arrive from replication process, we hope that just knowing that you should be able to pick up even a cheap player that might play the digital files holds you over till the disc arrives! Tell us what you think in the comments section! And thanks for watching!

Anxiously waiting Guys, enjoy your show, I suppose I would be on the first mailing list because I ordered the Tool kit when it was first available

    Hello guys

Do we use the calibration toolkit in lieu of room correction or in conjunction with it?

    • @joentell

If your room correction allows you to make adjustments after auto-calibration (Audyssey) then you can use them together. I've heard some people with Dirac systems say that the settings are limited once Dirac is turned on. It's best to try both methods and see which you prefer.

@@joentell I use Dirac. It locks you out of manual eq on the avr, making most adjust only available through Dirac’s software. Level cal is unlocked but speaker distance is locked. This is on an Onkyo rz50. I’d like to try manual calibration on my whole system without running room correction, but I’m just learning about impulse response and phase alignment. Does your toolkit guide us through that?

@@SunnySkiesInAZ manual impulse response correction is possible using the SACT Impulse Response section and REW. Whether your AVR will allow you to import the FIR filters is a different issue.

Bummer! Bad luck people, if they haven't started yet, send them the update. (then again, that might give them an excuse to slow down) Start looking for another manufacture just encase they truly suck. atb
