    Super informative videos. Im new to karting and have been watching all your stuff and even purchased your video series.When it comes to servicing the carb on the ka100s, when do you do a full rebuild/service kit vs simply doing the gasket kit? Thanks

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank heaps legend 👊👊
      I would the full kit every 10 hours when we do a new piston. And. Then maybe a new half kit every 4-6 weeks depending on how much use.

    How many hours can be done on an x30 and a KA 100 before a rebuild is done? What is the rpm limit of both engines respectively?

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      10-15 hours depending on budget. 16k is max for X30 and the KA 15500 - 16500 rpm depending on your gearing

    great video mate, since ive gotten into karting your videos have helped so much with general maintenance. Just a quick question what spark plug would you recommend to use for the ka100's ive been told the NGk B9egv is a good one but I think its discontinued any suggestions would be sick thanks

    Hello.
    I'm. BRAN NEW to the sport.
    I purchased a BIREL kart with the chassis and all components New. It has a rebuilt
    Yamaha KT100 zero running time. My question is , what is the difference between a KT100 and a KA100. Thanks.
    Great Video

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The biggest difference is the KA is a reed valve engjne and the KT is a piston port. The KA makes 50% more power over the KT and is an awesome engine

    • @jadin99
      @jadin99 ปีที่แล้ว

      Might be a bit late but ive ran both in the us and to me yes theres more power but the biggest difference I found was the tag style clutch on the ka100 vs the output shaft clutch on the kt100 that was a lot more maintenance and took a lot of tuning to get lap time

    Hi Derek, just got a new KA100 and noticed oil coming out of the area where the exhaust meet the engine. I was thinking that the engine was too rich and adjust the carburetor, but it’s still leaking oil. What should I check? Maybe the oil/gas mix?Thanks

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      it most likely the exhaust socket fit in the exhaust or the exhaust gasket leaking. no big deal other than the mess. double check, make sure the exhaust nuts are tight too

    I have a 2021 KA100 with less than 6 hours on the engine, with the starter support bracket and bolts removed, the starter will not come loose from the crank case, any tricks to remove it?

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is 7 screws in total. Once removed, use a soft hammer to loosen the housing off the crankcases

    We just picked up a KA100, pulled it out of the box set the carb to 1 and 1 on the high and low speed needles. At our race we just had we were only getting 13,800 RPM while most other drivers were getting 15,500 RPM on the same gear ratio. What could be the difference?

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      damn Jeff, that a big variation. did you lean out the HSJ at all?

    • @Jeff-504
      @Jeff-504 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We did not lean it out. Also just found out a few guys were running 3 teeth higher on the rear but I wouldn’t think 3 teeth would equal 1700 rpm. We have a long straight and was seeing 1100 EGT.

    Hi, I currently have a KA100 and today during practice my chain snapped and my engine immediatly topped out at 5k or 6k RPM despite being flat out on the throttle, since the chain was broken shouldnt the front sprocket been spinning freely? Is there something that you think could have broken during the incident? Thank you!

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hugo, jump up to KA3. then the weight won't be as much a problem for you as the class weight is higher and you have more power. in the low power catagories, weight and body height are a disadvantage.
