The reason why valve is doing this is why the AK, M4, and AWP skins all sell high. Because the guns are meta and that means you are more willing to use that gun and spend more money on that skin... by making more guns viable they boost the amount of money they can make from individual weapons. This is not unlike valve to do these things purely for the money, I mean I bet all these reworks are purely because the player base was beginning to dwindle due to fn and pubg.

Btw, a trick with the Negev, is to fire at the floor when about to peak an angle (prevents the enemy from seeing the bullet hell) then right before you pop out, you flick to the desired location and kill your target. Yes, they may hear you, but there is a good chance they wont exactly know the time you may peak, and you can get the kill. This is something I learned when I started using the Negev when it was reworked.
I think it was a good change. Labeling a gun as "Troll" and deciding that it should never be good is unfair. Even now, the gun is still very weak compared to other popular weapons. I really enjoy using the negev and you should try it out too as theres alot of strategy involved in correctly using the weapon.
My problem is that CS:GO team did not have to do any of this. If they wanted accurate long-range spray all they had to do was set fire inaccuracy to 0. Keep the first bullet accuracy, keep the recoil pattern. Because those two make up 80% of the weapon mechanics in CS:GO. Then you get the best of both worlds. The reliability of the first few shots and 'serious' usage of the weapon won't be affected, while the devs get to do their thing with the suppressive fire + there's skill involved in requiring to follow the recoil pattern for the laser-accuracy. Can be applied to the M249 too.
The random spray at first is part of the weapon, without it the negev just wouldn't be the same. I do know how it was in the past but we're talking about the current version. And i don't see any problem with it being a cheap weapon with alot of damage potential but a huge downside in its first shots' accuracy.
What do you mean it wouldn't be the same? The random spread is new. Before they made the Negev cheaper it had great first shot accuracy and was excellent at bursting. It was basically a super AK that cost more than 2x as much. The only things that made it not used were the bad movement speed and the massive cost.
I feel the new negev is a unique weapon and thats a good thing. The older one was very similar to other weapons in the game. Also read my comment i did state that i know how it was in the past and the other commenter felt the new changes were worse than what he suggested. My point is that the new version is more fun to use because of its special mechanic and without it the weapon would become dull to use much like the m249

I still want it to be a meme gun, reverting it back to the way it was when it was 5700, If i had alot of money and I wasnt awping I’d still buy it because gun v gun stats If I remember it was better then an m4 or an ak. What about giving the Negev increased aim-punch vs enemies? Make the weapon able to throw off an enemy's aim if they are hit repeatedly while wearing armor. Push it further into that "Suppression" or "Anti-rush" role.
I disagree with it not being viable. I use the Negev frequently now as you briefly mentioned: an anti-eco. At close-medium range, the early spray and ‘taps’ are viable enough and make for a great anti-eco given the damage the gun does. You don’t have to wait out for the laser beam at this distance, though it’s a good option to have when necessary.
the funniest thing is that the Negev in real life is a LMG that you're supposed to be able to run with and have minimal recoil. they got the recoil part somewhat correctbut the first part not at all XD
I personally think that supressive fire in CSGO aren't a bad idea, and it's fine. But I think they should complicate the spray pattern of it, so it's hard to reliably control (a downwards zigzag would be fine: moving mouse up in order to control spray pattern is a less usual skill, and zigzag pattern makes perfect sense for an LMG), and give it a really small amount of armor penetration, so it will has to chew through armor first. IMO, this tactic has place in CSGO, but spraying down corridors is stupid unless it takes more skill to do so reliably, and there are available countermeasures (like armor protecting very well against it, less damage overall and no bullet penetration).
I think that this is a nerf in general because before you could peek a corner while spraying if you held the right angle. not anymore, they decreased the movement speed.
I love the Negev now that you can actually burst with it. Getting 2-3 kills/round on MG ranks is extremely easy when using Negev, and i suppose that if you use it in the right situation and in the right way, it can be a good weapon on higher ranks too.

I really like the lighting in this video when you're speaking to the camera, you did a good job of using those sidelights to give definition to your features rather than letting the light flatten them out. I'd suggest maybe trying to move the light on /your/ right just a little more in front of you so that it fills the darker area across the front of your face; the brightness of the left side of your face makes the front seem a bit dark, being framed by the brighter sides. Very nice look! imo
I've just lately started to use this weapon myself. Due to the fact I play a lot of positions where my main strategy is to hide as long as possible, and let as many enemies pass as possible. Usually in these situations if I have a rifle I get maybe one enemy off guard, but due to my bad aim I fail to get more than that. However now that I've switched to negev which has much more firepower I can easily take down hordes of enemy rushes, and if I maybe have a teammate to throw flashbang and keep enemy busy, it gives me even better opportunity to just slaughter them. Spots where I like to use it are for example in Vertigo hiding behind the bags in A ramp, or hiding behind toolbox in mid. Its also extreamly useful when spraying through the wooden wall on A ramp AND spraying through smokes. Im actually a bit surprised I dont see this weapon more often.

I've often thought the lmgs should be kinda like premium rifles, with spray patterns that would make them useful for sustained fire and low randomness to their sprays but not as useful at tap shooting as the standard rifles
I have some ideas to make some weapons better 1. Duals: left click for left gun and right click for right click but make the guns less accurate. 2.Revolver: Put a scope on it, and place it to the duals. The scope should be like the one on the SG 553. 3. Bizon a bit more armor penetration and fastest fire rate in CS. 4.Autos: Extreme recoil and decraese the price( like the baretta kal in MW2 but no one shot on boddy.
90% of the games I play are on Faceit these days because of the extra level of protection and better opponents. I was shocked how bad Supremes and Globals were on Valve's MM. No wonder its filled with cheaters and boosted ranks playing the occasional game so not to loose their ranks. Valve should focus less on insignificant things like the Negev and think long and hard about adding more maps to the pool. I personally loved Season and would happily play it over Dust2, Cobblestone and Inferno. We shouldn't need to wait for Operations in order to play maps like Subzero which I hear is also pretty good.

Cs economy is not the core of the game. When i was playing 1.3, i wasn't amazed by the ig economy, i was amazed by the game itself and the variety of weapons
Would love to use the Negav as a support weapon. On CT side team up with a flanker so I can molotov/smokes and pin the enemy down with the spray forcing them to wait for my flanker to pick em off or run into the the fire and flames. On Terrorist side same deal but only once the bomb is placed sticking to them Jaun deages to help secure site then going support with smokes/Molotov's. Feels like great crowd control until one day they release something like MK3 grenades.
Honestly, just put the Negev back to how it was 2 years ago, sounds included. It was fine. It was a huge gun with a huge ammo belt and it had a huge price tag, the crazy firing sound fit the gun perfectly, it had an almost terrifying essence to it in the right situation (Non competitively of course) and having the Loudmouth skin for it actually made sense back then. The Ammo box has the word "RUN" written on it for a reason. The gun now has even less place in the game than it did before, because now its completely useless, as opposed to just being decent and really fun to use.

Yes but it's constantly evolving. I've been experimenting with neural networks, they learn almost instantly but need an absolutely massive sample size to learn from. Valve is tackling this by dealing with this one step at a time, it will not take much time for a neural network to recognize patterns in only a few inputs (ie aim of every other shot for 8 rounds), as opposed to the exponentially more time it will take to also throw game sense-related data in. If they slowly add each new module of code on then the bot will get to the end result much faster.
I just realised the negev is an actual option to buy on ct side aftey you win the pistol round. Chances are that the next 2 rounds are going to be fullou rushes, and even if you die and loose the weapon, it's really not a weapon any T-sided player would likely pick up and use.
As i have seen back then it was a laser gun with no recoil or *S P R E Ă D* tho it was the price of an awp , it was way more accurate and you moved faster with it (idk if this negev is the one ur talking about as this gun had many reworks trhought out its life time)

Is it possible that the Negev is supposed to be used for an anti-eco, to stop 5 man glock trains and mac10 pushes? It's cheep enough to toss your old gun, use it and then retrieve your old gun at the end of the round. Also, maybe one could use a decoy grenade to spoof the warm up of the gun somehow?
n00b (to CS:GO) question: from the spray pattern demo and the way you aim directly at the wall in front of you at 4:04, it looks like the recoil mechanics in CS:GO involve the shots moving independently of the crosshair, which I thought was supposed to represent the point of aim of the weapon sights (i.e. recoil moves the end of the barrel but the sight post dimensions somehow dynamically deform to counteract this by a massive amount) - is that correct? It seems very unrealistic and immersion breaking. If so, is this sacrifice of realism (and fun for me) an attempt to counteract aimbot cheats?
I would argue the balance of the CZ is based in its cost. If you increase the cost to at least 700 dollars (same as the Deagle) it would be somewhat viable and further balance can be worked on from there
It is an excellent ambush gun for defensive locations. Guarding a planted bomb on T or defending a location on CT. Probably not great at higher levels, but I have wiped out an entire stacked team rushing a site more than once. Check corners....
I wonder if the negev could be used as a counter to the CZ in that you can lock down an area from a distance and as such are not at as much of a risk from the CZ . I'm not able to put that to the test right now but if someone's tried it I'd be interested to know if that would be a possibility.

Based on the amount I see it used and my experience using it, it seems like this was a good patch. Negev can actually be worth buying now on eco or anti eco, but I don't see it being overused. When people do overuse it in a match, they usually get shat on.

I've often thought the lmgs should be kinda like premium rifles, with spray patterns that would make them useful for sustained fire and low randomness to their sprays but not as useful at tap shooting as the standard rifles

I have some ideas to make some weapons better
1. Duals: left click for left gun and right click for right click but make the guns less accurate.
2.Revolver: Put a scope on it, and place it to the duals. The scope should be like the one on the SG 553.
3. Bizon a bit more armor penetration and fastest fire rate in CS.
4.Autos: Extreme recoil and decraese the price( like the baretta kal in MW2 but no one shot on boddy.

90% of the games I play are on Faceit these days because of the extra level of protection and better opponents. I was shocked how bad Supremes and Globals were on Valve's MM. No wonder its filled with cheaters and boosted ranks playing the occasional game so not to loose their ranks.
Valve should focus less on insignificant things like the Negev and think long and hard about adding more maps to the pool. I personally loved Season and would happily play it over Dust2, Cobblestone and Inferno. We shouldn't need to wait for Operations in order to play maps like Subzero which I hear is also pretty good.

Maybe you're talking about US? Here in EU ESEA is dead and Faceit dominates. All the good players have moved over and is the only place to get some tougher challenging fights.

Whats wrong with the neg becoming an anti rush weapon?When you see the enemy trying to push using flashes and smokes, you counter it with suppressing fire until your team can rotate. the enemy can still push you off by wall banging and throwing molotov at your location.

Would love to use the Negav as a support weapon.
On CT side team up with a flanker so I can molotov/smokes and pin the enemy down with the spray forcing them to wait for my flanker to pick em off or run into the the fire and flames.
On Terrorist side same deal but only once the bomb is placed sticking to them Jaun deages to help secure site then going support with smokes/Molotov's.
Feels like great crowd control until one day they release something like MK3 grenades.

Honestly, just put the Negev back to how it was 2 years ago, sounds included. It was fine. It was a huge gun with a huge ammo belt and it had a huge price tag, the crazy firing sound fit the gun perfectly, it had an almost terrifying essence to it in the right situation (Non competitively of course) and having the Loudmouth skin for it actually made sense back then. The Ammo box has the word "RUN" written on it for a reason. The gun now has even less place in the game than it did before, because now its completely useless, as opposed to just being decent and really fun to use.

Valve bought 1700 CPUs with servers that have 128gb each, since it analyzes every player for four minutes at the end of each round. It's the biggest anti-cheat system in history and they just rolled it out.

Yes but it's constantly evolving. I've been experimenting with neural networks, they learn almost instantly but need an absolutely massive sample size to learn from. Valve is tackling this by dealing with this one step at a time, it will not take much time for a neural network to recognize patterns in only a few inputs (ie aim of every other shot for 8 rounds), as opposed to the exponentially more time it will take to also throw game sense-related data in. If they slowly add each new module of code on then the bot will get to the end result much faster.
I just realised the negev is an actual option to buy on ct side aftey you win the pistol round. Chances are that the next 2 rounds are going to be fullou rushes, and even if you die and loose the weapon, it's really not a weapon any T-sided player would likely pick up and use.

Is it possible that the Negev is supposed to be used for an anti-eco, to stop 5 man glock trains and mac10 pushes? It's cheep enough to toss your old gun, use it and then retrieve your old gun at the end of the round. Also, maybe one could use a decoy grenade to spoof the warm up of the gun somehow?
n00b (to CS:GO) question: from the spray pattern demo and the way you aim directly at the wall in front of you at 4:04, it looks like the recoil mechanics in CS:GO involve the shots moving independently of the crosshair, which I thought was supposed to represent the point of aim of the weapon sights (i.e. recoil moves the end of the barrel but the sight post dimensions somehow dynamically deform to counteract this by a massive amount) - is that correct? It seems very unrealistic and immersion breaking. If so, is this sacrifice of realism (and fun for me) an attempt to counteract aimbot cheats?

I would argue the balance of the CZ is based in its cost. If you increase the cost to at least 700 dollars (same as the Deagle) it would be somewhat viable and further balance can be worked on from there

It is an excellent ambush gun for defensive locations. Guarding a planted bomb on T or defending a location on CT. Probably not great at higher levels, but I have wiped out an entire stacked team rushing a site more than once. Check corners....

I wonder if the negev could be used as a counter to the CZ in that you can lock down an area from a distance and as such are not at as much of a risk from the CZ . I'm not able to put that to the test right now but if someone's tried it I'd be interested to know if that would be a possibility.
But how would you actually change the negev? Like, not making it meta, but atleadt making it a less of a joke? Would you change the "backwards accurate" firing? Maybe giving it an actual spray pattern and making it less random?

Based on the amount I see it used and my experience using it, it seems like this was a good patch. Negev can actually be worth buying now on eco or anti eco, but I don't see it being overused. When people do overuse it in a match, they usually get shat on.
