Well said Cory!! The only thing I would take issue with is believing a priveleged white woman could really understand the realities of a black man or black woman. She can empathize, but our reality cannot be fully understood by someone who hasn't lived it. I will say the DHS Secretary's demeanor did change from elitist arrogance (rolling her eyes at you) to surprise as she was actually listening to you, hearing things she probably wasn't aware of, like the constant death rates, the hurt and anger from people of color re-living an ugly past from the most ignorant, narcissistic, self-absorbed, erratic, racist, and unusual president in history. I'm ignoring the conservative media nonsense about your impassioned speech, because let's face it, that nonsense just makes the necessity of this moment even more very clear. Keep your cool in the face of all of this. lf you were a preacher like Dr. King or Rev William Barber, you would've made it sound like a sermon that would've been very hard to ignore and not feel. But you don't have to be a preacher to fully get your point across. Frankly, I would love to know what was said by Trump or one his lackeys to the DHS secretary and others to act so willfully ignorant. Even the doc who did his physical sounded uncomfortable. Like he knew he had to say knowingly false things about Trump in order to keep his job and not get harrassed by ignorant bots and minions. It's all very sad, but temporary. This too shall pass (not soon enough in my opinion), but it inevitably will.

Michael Shaw. I'm an old man now. When I grew up there were laws in certain states which separated the races. These laws were enacted by the losers of the American civil war who were extremely bitter and the south's bitterness towards the yankee lasted well into my lifetime. Those laws, in turn, caused bitterness in the black community. When those blacks moved to the industrialized north they carried their bitterness of whites with them. Whites, seeing nothing but hostility, didn't want to be around them. So now, in our present day, we are in an unsolvable situation. Cory Booker sees white supremacists under his bed and in his closet. No one can change his mind. Whites have noticed that for the last 30 or 40 years the press would only inform the public of crimes of whites against blacks. Any crimes of blacks against whites were buried. This was an effort of the press to lessen the hostility of whites towards blacks. Now, we have blacks who are hostile to whites, committing murders of whites, and with social media it can't be hidden any more. So white people, who frankly were actually raised not to be racist are becoming racist at an alarming rate. Because we are really just creations of God, I hope God can fix our situation. We can't do it, and if we don't do it, all hell will break loose in America.

I've seen 2-year-olds cry. Truth is that man cried like a baby. It was the slamming of his fists on the table that really sold it.

Deep winter! Get used to it! because they all most likely going to speak out louder and louder and speak the truth! There is a toddler in office at the white house, so it's only quite fitting for C.Booker to express his frustration that way!!
