The Artist is the first DBD killer to genuinely creep me out. Her awkward bird like movements, sounds, and her elongated limbs give me an uncomfortable feeling while looking at her. The music adds to this greatly.

I love this theme so much. It makes you question what exactly you're looking at when you see the artist. Her bird like croaking/twisting, the way her limbs are elongated past what's normal. Her inky black eyes. They make you question if what you see is even a person anymore, more like a monster.

I used to have bad nightmares of going to an abandoned region or land, and seeing all sorts of crazy monster things, and a sleep paralysis demon that would appear in my dreams and in the corner of my room... and she looked very similar to the Artist, before she came out and before I bought dbd. When she made her trailer appearance, I was like "Oh hell no, F that SH. The Artist is the only killer (appearance wise) that terrifies me because of this.

You know what this reminds me of? The music that plays with the Mimicry Marcus Leeches from Resident Evil 0. That's probably why I find this so unnerving because fuck those things. Hats off to whoever composed this. An outstanding job once again.
I adore the artist, I love that we’re getting back to the creepy vibe again. I really hope they release some darker and spookier maps again though :( the game will never scare me like it used to but I’d like some resemblance of fear
Layer 1 feels like you're stranded somewhere, you feel weak, but you feel like you're not alone. Layer 2 is like a scene where crows are circling over you, waiting for you to collapse so they can feed. Layer 3 Is where those birds are starting to get impatient, some are flying lower, some are pecking at you. Layer 4 is when the swarm begins.
This killer creeps me out the most out of any because when she first came out she showed up in a nightmare I had a few days after. To this day I cannot face her without getting insane anxiety and the music adds to it. Gives me fucking chills.

I wonder what would have happened if Bhvr made The Artist more like a human who moves like a bird. Keep the head movements, but make her attack with her feet, her arms are inky wings, and her knees bend backwards. To create her birds, she raises her wings in a similar manner to the current animation, and flaps wildly to send them off. But hey, I'm no killer designer and I think that the current Artist is pretty cool too.
If you listen with headphones or aux you can actually hear bass in the background for the song. Too bad you can never really hear it because either a chase ends to quickly against the artist, or everybody is playing Wesker.

I think this is my favorite theme for a killer in the game! It's so perfect to chase survivors in and hear while being chased. So creepy
