Glad you doing a Doritos food war, and yes Blazen Buffalo Ranch is the best Dorito in my book and very hard to get since it's one of the limited edition flavors in the US.😀
I wish I could have all the UK versions and all the American versions of the Doritos here in canada so I could do one bid taste test video of them on my channel like I have done with a lot of other snack brands. The UK stacked ones looked interesting.
I don’t know if they could find them or it wasn’t available during the filming of this episode or if there available in the US & UK, but I like the “Doritos Roulette” flavor.
Ironically, providing you get the right salsa (One that's not overly salty, or a fresh salsa works really well), Dorritos are actually really great with dips, it takes an edge off the saltiness of the chips and the overabundance of flavor, and gives your taste buts a bit of a breather between massive hits over flavor. Worth a try if you haven't tried it before. I would recommend avoiding salsas like Pace, however, because it's way too salty to pair with Dorritos and will not only be high in salt, but taste like you're sucking a salt lick.
Doritos also released a plain tortilla chips version when they decided to temporarily change to the old school retro look in the last few months. Don't know if it is a US exclusive or not but I feel like the plain tortilla chips would go really good with the UK exclusive dips.
I think our "lightly salted" ones count since they are pretty plain, especially compared to the others. I'm wondering if the American ones have a stronger flavour overall and that's why the idea of mixing them with a dip seems so unappealing.
They had a flavor here in Belgium of flaming hot Nacho cheese Doritos. It took me 3 days to finish a whole bag due to my spice tolerance being rather low. And then on the second day I coughed and got some of the dust shit in my nose. Pain ensued for all of a minute, and my nasals felt like they were burning.

The USA flavours were a lot of spicy ones. In Australia we have a green Doritos bag which is like a plain salted one. We have a yellow bag which is nacho cheese. Red bag for cheese supreme (my favourite). An orange bag for Mexicana. A purple bag for Thai sweet chilli. A blue bag for cool ranch (second favourite). And a new red bag with flames for Flaming hot cheese supreme. We have the dips in mild, medium, hot, and nacho cheese.
Make your own healthier version by cutting up tortillas into triangles, spraying a little oil on them and tossing them with some taco seasoning before baking them in the oven. That’s what we did growing up since we never had chips in the house.
