Army Painter blood effects are definitely made to be used in tandem. When they made the commercial/short showing them off, they brought up that they make up for what each other lacks.
I would recommend another look at tamiya clear red its the most versatile with the addition of brown ink it can go from fresh to old blood and any shade in-between and I don't recommend thinning it use it neat thanks for the great video bring on the gore!
Thanks for the suggestion! I forgot to mention it but the purpose of this video was to look for a 'out of the box' blood effect paint. Clear Red could work awesome as a filter and combining different blood paints could work very well too but I wanted to keep the review a bit basic. Maybe I can do another one where I check out combinations to enhance gore
I think personally a combo of the two army painters and the Blood for the Blood God would cover all bases and I think those three would do pretty much all things you would need I am having fun exploring rust, and finding combos of different colours work so well together!

The only citadel paints i buy are their Technical paints, and their metallics. Blood for the blood god, and Tesseract glow are fantastic. Stirland mud is great, bit pricey if you need a lot tho, hex wraith flame and nihilakh oxide is great too. Their metallics are decent too, i do like other brands more, but not as simple as walking into my local hobby store and getting it off the shelf.
We are spoiled for choice nowadays. I am also using other brands now but for videos it's usually best to use Citadel paints as most people have them. I'm definitely growing very fond of AK Interactive paints
The artificial static was okay as part of the opener, but continuing it for the rest of the video is distracting and doesn't add anything to the video.
Hmm, I don't think making a winner from a paint that isn't available anymore leads to anywhere... It doesn't really makes sense, because nobody will be able to purchase it. You shoud test with Blood for the Blood God from current Citadel line. Second issue is that I think you don't recognise blood colours too well. Blood is not red (mostly). And especially old blood might look even more magenta/orange. Damn, blood can be anything from bright pink to extremely dark brown. For me you're heavily biased towards Citadel, which is a shame considering you'll be unable to restock your favorite blood effect paint. Try to do vomit and slime effects paints next time. I saw your video with AP Fanatic Oozing Vomit but didn't see any compettion review between different companies. GSW, AP and Vallejo each have their respective versions and it'll be interesting to see differences between them.

Seeing this...I really need to get the Dry Blood. I can use that for texture, and then my Clear Red for the flowing blood.

If you check out the AP video: Warpaints Fanatic Painting Special Effects; at 3 minutes in, you see that the Dry Blood also cracks like a scab 😜👍

Army painter has been blowing it out of the park lately
I've tried a couple of the new fanatic line (mostly the special effects paints) and they're really good!

I’m using it as quick transitions and cuts. They’re not randomly placed (most of the time)

you left out the best blood, the Abt502 blood red. That mixed with Engine Grease from Abt502 is the best blood there is.
