    Hey,man! Thank you for this video. I just bought this house with HZ311 2 zone system and after a cold snap the system won’t go back to A/C. Of course I figure out the A/C isn’t cooling at midnight on Saturday night, LOL😂. No worries, temp inside was sleepable. Anyway, I figure out that the system is being held out by the 160 degree F limit in the HZ311 and but don’t see how to reset it. Find another TH-camr that said the most common problem with these Honeywell systems is the DAT sensors. Suggested disconnecting it and sure enough, I basically just wiggled the wire at the HZ311 unit and the heat indicator light went off and A/C cycled on! Then I found you video, and you confirmed what I thought was the root cause. Keep those videos coming!

    FACTS! I do commercial hvac and call tech support all the time. No shame of it. That’s what it’s there for. Great video!

    Thanks Walter, my kids were so cold this morning. Why on earth does this sensor shut the whole heating off? That’s a risk factor as someone can get sick

    Came across this today. High limit saying it thought it was 195 degrees. Disconnected the 2 Dats wire and heat came on. Replaced on the spot and we were good to go. Had to call someone as well for that one 😅

    For two story homes, I'd have to vote for zones, upper and lower floors only. Most of the time the upper floor will get the A/C during warm weather while heat will go to the first floor during cooler times. It only makes sense with one HVAC heater and condenser.

    Great Video, my issue is the Connection EIM light is not on for it to connect (Pair) T-stat

    I keep a wired up thermostat for testing so I don’t have to go up and down several times changing modes. Or just use jumpers

    Hz311 flashing cooling all of sudden, replaced the board still low voltage, could it be a capacitor

    It sure is sad that a home buyer moves into a home and then nothing is turned on or set correctly to operate. Then on top of that, a lot of people do not know how to light the water heater, furnace, pilot lights, work circuit breakers etc. It's almost reasonable to require home buyers be educated in at least the minimums before they take over a residence that is not already set up to "run" normally. Hard to fathom moving in then having to fork out $200 to $500 just to get things running because the seller didn't have the utilities left on or similar.

      Yes, you may. Make sure the thermostat is set up for the correct system. Gas, electric or heat pump

    I'm not to familiar with zoning systems but I have the basics....

    Not a fan of zoning systems. We have them a lot in nc for new construction. That discharge sensor can cycle the compressor during cooling a lot. There goes your efficiency 😂

  • @joebyron9
    @joebyron9 ปีที่แล้ว

    bruh i knew it was the DAT SENSORS as soon as i saw it blinking 😂 very common the zones aren’t balanced properly and causing excess static in the plenum which causes the DAT Sensor to constantly trip on high limit or low limit which will eventually burn it out since its a thermistor

    God I hate zone systems. Pain in the ass they are. Really wish they would just install 2 separate systems instead but that would be money and these new builders are cheap af

    • @joebyron9
      @joebyron9 ปีที่แล้ว

      honestly theyre super easy, I actually love working on zones u just have to understand them cause nobody does

    • @embeddedgirl
      @embeddedgirl ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joebyron9 it's not that they're hard to work on, they're easy. It goes back to airflow and static pressures. Most of the equipment that zone systems are installed on, are not designed to be used on a zoned system. If I installed any zone system I would be doing so with equipment that has variable airflow blowers that can communicate with the zone controller to maintain correct airflow. Bypass dampers do work, but they're not great at keeping your delta T where you hope to be at.
