I watch this about once a month just to remind myself to be half as optimistic as Ronald seemed to be. And I'm always sure to watch it with a glass of champagne.
RIP 3rd January 2012 aged 91. What a fantastic man..what a life...phenomenally brilliant illustrator! Many many thanks,Ronald old boy,you maniac..raising a glass of champagne right now.
From Searle and I have to include Steadman as well he’s quite possibly the greatest of 20th Century Satirical Cartoonists and more, much much more. Your scratchy ink splattered style of direct simplicity is the genius markings you leave influencing generations.
Cheers! (if only l had champagne) 12years later and YouT is still recommending this interview.
Congratulations my friend!
RIP Mr Searle. A life well lived.

Brilliant, bloody brilliant. He once did a job for me, and was a pleasure to work with. Like him, I owe it all to "Machine Oil!"
Cheers Ronald
No other cartoonist can make me this happy!
